grades fall. Besides, as you said, your father wouldn’t approve.”
The smile widened. “I can help you on your homework, and if worst comes to worst, I’ll let daddy shun me. Fuck it. Deep down, I never believed in that stuff anyway.”
She was antsy, sweat pouring down her face. In a way, I had to feel a little bad for her. She was definitely a product of how she was raised, I can say that much.
I shook my head. “I just want to take a break at least. Maybe we can get back together sometime, but I need some time to think, you know?”
Her brow furrowed and she gritted her teeth. The real Sally was emerging, like a demon coming out of Hell. “So that’s how it is,” she said. “You want to leave me, huh?”
I waved my hands. “Nothing like that. I just want to take a little break.”
She gritted her teeth harder. “In English class today, I learned about euphemisms. Do you know what they are?”
I nodded, a tad confused. “Aren’t they weaker words or phrases you substitute from stronger words? For instance, saying ‘passed away’ instead of ‘died?’”
She nodded. “For a lunkhead, you have some smarts.”
Lunkhead? Way to get to my heart, girl.
“Anyway, you saying ‘Taking a break,’ is a euphemism for ‘I’m seeing someone else, and I want you to fuck off.’ Is that correct?”
Her stare pierced into my soul, I found myself unable to resist her questioning. I nodded. “Fine. I’m seeing someone else.”
She crossed her arms. “Exactly. I knew it. Why would you want to break up with a sexy girl like me who is a great fuck unless you were seeing someone else?” Her eyes squinted. “Who is it? Honestly, I can be on the side if you want.”
“None of your business,” I said. “And I’m no longer interested in side chicks. Sorry.”
Her first shook. She gave me that piercing stare. “Of course you’d say that. But I’m not dumb. I know who it is. It’s her isn’t it? That Alisha chick you’re always talking to. But that makes no sense. I thought you had standards. It’s like a rich man eating at McDonald’s. It makes no sense.”
I growled, myself now becoming heated. “First off, she’s a better lay than you are.”
I watched her reel back, her makeup cracking as she heard this revelation. Not only did I directly tell her we fucked, I said Alisha was better than Sally. “And second, it’s more than just looks. She actually cares about me, and likes me for my character and not because I’m a star football player. I’m tired of getting all these vapid, ditzy girls who just want my dick. Sure, it was fun for a few years, but I want something quality, and I think she’s the right girl for me.”
I was surprised how these words came out of my mouth. In a way, I felt like I was delivering the ultimate verbal smackdown on this crazy bitch. Thank God for that.
She froze in place for a few seconds, and before I knew it, she grabbed the closest object she could find, which was a watch I had lying on my desk. My mom gave that to me as a gift, and this precious present was now in the hands of a psycho who threw it at me. The watch smacked on my face, stinging it quite a bit.
“You’ll pay for this!” she shouted, tears flying from her eyes. As her makeup ran, she looked more like a screaming banshee than a sexy church girl. My God. How did I find her attractive? Was this really the girls I dated? I felt like I was being unplugged out of the Matrix after years inside.
Before I could fight back, she ran out of the door and sprinted past the hallway like a road runner.
Alisha
Knock! Knock! Knock!
I was about to go to bed when I heard the knocking on my door. Julie had been out for a while, so I guessed it was her. But why would she be knocking on her own door unless she lost the keys? Then again, that was a very Julie thing to do.
I opened the door, and standing in front of me
