hard as he was riding her. Her release
was on the horizon, but when the lights exploded behind her eyes, there was no
accompanying sucking sensation, no spiraling, draining stimulation. The orgasm
took her breath as it plowed over her, but she missed that strange, wondrous
connection with him.
Trask shuddered behind her and groaned, emptying himself
into her. He took a deep breath and then slowly, gently stroked her back. With
a low grunt, he pulled himself free and lay down beside her.
Rena flopped down on the bed, used and abused and completely
content. A small, blissful sigh escaped her lips when he gathered her in his
arms, spooning her from behind. He brushed her hair aside to nuzzle the back of
her neck and she felt him pause. Her skin tingled as he traced the mark he’d
left on her the night before. “This means you’re mine now.”
Shivers ran through her body as he gently explored the
bruised skin. He’d said the words lightly, a teasing note in his voice, but
there was also something there that was not teasing at all, a dark, serious
tone that said he meant every word. It was a little bit scary. And terribly
thrilling. “Is that what that means?” she asked playfully. “Who decided that?”
He turned her in his arms so that they were facing one
another. “I decided that.”
“Did you?” she asked, charmed and amused with his arrogance.
He wasn’t kidding about being confident. “What if I haven’t decided that?”
He kissed her, a slow, thorough kiss that melted everything
inside her. She was breathless when he finally released her and his smile said
he knew exactly how much he affected her. “I think you have.”
She opened her mouth to deliver a witty retort, but nothing
came. He was right.

Rena drifted awake sometime later, warm and cozy and safe.
Trask’s strong arms cradled her, holding her gently, and she snuggled into his
embrace.
His hold tightened around her and Rena sighed contently. She
felt at peace. Happy. This was where she belonged, here in his arms. She rolled
over and nuzzled his chest, her lips brushing over his nipple. She lazily
opened one eye and gasped, her whole body going rigid in shock. Darkness
embraced her, a figure made of a black so black it swallowed the light. It was
a mass of raw, sexual energy and her heart pounded in fear even as her pussy
moistened in fierce arousal. It stole her breath and she recoiled from its dark
power.
“Rena,” it said, and she blinked away the apparition to find
a worried Trask beside her. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” she said, and scrubbed her hand over her face.
“I—it—whoa.” She shook her head. “I must have been dreaming.”
He gripped her biceps tightly, capturing her full attention.
“What happened?”
She shook her head again, still trying to make sense of what
she saw. “I was dreaming. You were there, next to me. But you weren’t you. Or I
guess maybe you were you, but you were more, something else. Different. I don’t
know. You were…” She grasped for the right word, couldn’t find it. “Darkness.”
Trask bowed his head and was silent for a long moment. When
he met her eyes again, she saw determination in their dark depths. “What you
saw was real. I am darkness.”
Rena tried to laugh, but she wasn’t quite in the mood for
jokes just yet. Her heart was still hammering a little too hard in her chest.
She swatted his arm. “Don’t be silly.”
He caught her hand, held it against his chest, over his
heart. “No, you don’t understand.” He met her eyes, imploring her to listen.
“Rena, I’m a lust demon.”
“You’re a lust demon?” she asked, unable to keep the
incredulousness out of her voice. Why was she only attracted to the weirdos,
the insane, the assholes? Why couldn’t she find just one, single, decent,
normal man? Was that really so much to ask? “What does that mean?”
He looked at her as though she were the one who was crazy. “It
means exactly that.
