what the sound would do to him. She pretended not to hear his gasp or his corresponding groan. If she thought she could get away with it, she’d do it again, but she didn’t want to be too obvious. When she opened her eyes, his gaze was fixed on her mouth. She licked the sweet fruit from the corner of her lip, thrilled at how his eyes darkened in response. A moment later, he adjusted his jeans and looked out over the rippling water of the lake.
“Amalija,” he said, his voice a lot huskier than she expected, “why are we here?”
Straight to the point. She could handle that.
She took an unsteady breath, then looked into his eyes. With a little shake of her head, she smiled. “We need to have a serious talk, but I want to swim first. Do you mind?”
His eyebrows shot up, but then he nodded. “Sure, go ahead.”
“Want to join me?” she asked as she stood.
    “No, thanks. I’ll wait here.”
She shrugged and took a step back. “Suit yourself.” Being in the water wasn’t required for what she intended. She bit her lip, then without warning, she grabbed the hem of her T-shirt and whipped it over her head, dropping it onto the blanket right next to him. Before he could close his mouth or utter a word, she reached back, unhooked her bra, and dropped that, too.
Before he could say anything she was already popping the snap of her jeans. She toed off her sneakers, and in the next instant, she had both her jeans and her panties down around her ankles.

Wesken swallowed hard. It was bad enough that all his blood had gone straight to his groin when she’d moaned at the taste of her favorite treat, but to then stand there smiling at him as she stripped every bit of her clothes off…
He wasn’t a fucking machine. She was a beautiful woman. More than beautiful—damn near perfect. “Where is your swimsuit?” was all he could manage.
“I didn’t bring it. No one else comes out here, so it’s safe.”
He fought to keep his gaze above her neck, but even that wasn’t safe. She pulled her bottom lip between her teeth and smiled again. “You can still join me if you’d like.”
“That’s not a good idea.” Though, for the life of him, the reason behind that was getting fuzzier by the second.
“It’s an excellent idea. We’re not mates… so what? You’re male, and I’m female. We’re obviously attracted to one another—why not enjoy ourselves?”
    “Amalija.”
She pulled her long hair over her shoulder. He might have stood a chance at not looking had she not brought her hand up and run the tips of her fingers from her shoulder to her breast. His cock jumped against the denim holding him back. His wolf surged forward. Mine.
No. Not ours , he insisted, but even he was having a hard time believing it.
“This doesn’t have to mean anything more than what it is—two people enjoying the pleasures of their bodies. Once wasn’t enough for me, Wesken. Was it enough for you?”
He should lie and tell her he’d already forgotten about it, but he wanted her so badly it hurt. “No.”
She smiled at him again. “I lie awake at night imagining your hands on me, touching me.” She slid her hand down her belly. If she touched herself, even a little, he’d be lost.
His lungs burned as he watched her fingers travel lower. Just a little further.
But she stopped there, stroking little circles against her flesh until he looked up at her again.
“It’s not my fingers I want there, Wesken. I want you—your fingers, your lips, your tongue… and I want your cock. The question is, will you let me have them?”
She nibbled at her bottom lip again. In an instant, he was up and had his shirt off. He didn’t care where it landed as long as it was gone and his skin could make contact with hers. His mouth came down on hers in a hard, desperate kiss. Teeth and tongues collided, but it was worth it when she melted against him and moaned. Reaching between them, she tugged at the snap of his
