Please! She could feel his hot breath on her lips. She ran her hand up over his shoulder to pull him down to her, trying to inspire some urgency.
"What the...!" Matt pulled his head up. Andy felt slightly dazed from the lack of air to her lungs and then his sudden retreat. Leaning back and jostling her body, Matt pulled out his cell phone from his jean's pocket. Buzz! Buzz! Buzz! Andy pressed her lips together, irritated by the interruption. He flicked the illuminated screen and read the text message. Raising his eye brows in annoyed disbelief, he clicked off the screen and took a deep breath.
"I'm sorry, Andy, but I have to go." He was more amused than irritated and she wanted to know why. "Garrett needs me. His truck won't start and he's on a date with Hannah." He chuckled, shaking his head. "Oh! How the mighty have fallen!"
Andy rolled her eyes. Matt lifted her out of his lap and she stood up from the couch. She couldn't deny she was disappointed, but it was probably for the best.
"What time tomorrow? I get off work at four." She watched as Matt gathered his keys from the counter. He turned and smiled. He had caught the pout she was trying hard to hide.
"Will six work? This little interruption will get my brother to watch Harper for us tomorrow." He walked back the few feet he had taken to retrieve his car keys and pulled her back into his arms. Barely able to catch a quick breath, Matt was kissing her with so much heat her toes curled in her socks. He held her so squarely to his chest and she felt every breath he took. Every rise and fall his chest made. It was over far too soon for her liking. Nearly sighing as he released her, Andy smoothed her palms down her waist and followed Matt to the door. Seeing him through it, he turned to smiled at her.
    "Goodnight, Andy."
She let the words purr through her. Mmmm.
"Good night." She closed the door behind him so that she wouldn't be caught hanging out in the hallway watching him walk away, although he did have a great behind! The pent up sexual ache slammed into her stomach. Oh heck! It was going to be a long night. Settling back down on the couch again this time with the laundry that needed to be folded, she sighed. Tomorrow night would not come soon enough.

Matt could have laughed at the deep disappointment that had clouded Andy's beautiful green eyes. She had tried for all of a minute to conceal it, but that sassy pout had made him kiss her senseless again. Sliding into the driver's seat of his truck, he slipped the key into the ignition and it roared to life. He couldn't help the goofy smile that lingered on his lips. There was no denying the sparks that had roared to life tonight. Andy felt the same as he and had they not been interrupted by Garrett's S.O.S., well, who knows where it might have ended up.
Clicking his seat belt and putting the Chevy truck in gear, he set out to be a hero. He preferred to think along those lines, because Garrett would just call him his little brother. At this moment though, he didn't feel so little. At twenty-eight years old, Matt felt like he had a destination in mind and he was looking forward to the journey. There was nothing stopping him from loving Andy completely, except for the truth. She hadn't been willing to share it all yet. He hadn't pushed.
There was a sneaking suspicion that if he did push, she would back away from him. He hoped that with time and some sensual barriers removed, Andy might be convinced that it was in her and her baby's best interest to be open with him. Harper. He grinned to himself. That angel was a pivoting role. She had captured him with just her little smile and all her trust. Sitting with them in the apartment hallway, he had felt an instant connection to both mother and daughter.
Letting out a deep breath, Matt turned into the movie theater parking lot. Garrett's big black Dodge was parked in the back with the hood up. Shaking his head, Matt pulled his truck up around the front so that the
