include learning to live with all the parts of you.”
He smiled, and pulled her into his arms again. “It doesn’t bother you. What we are?”
She thought about it for a moment. “No. Perhaps if I had my memories, it would seem different. You're lucky I don’t have anything to compare it with.”
He kissed the top of her head. “Perhaps I should be selfish and hope you never get them back.”
“Maybe I won’t.” She pulled away from him. “I need to make it right with Cyrus. One thing I never want to do is upset your life here.”
“You don’t think you’ve already done that.” He watched her face change, she looked horrified and so he added. “In a good way, Maggie.” Then as she left the room, he murmured, “In a very good way.”
Maggie went to the front door and grabbed a coat. Cyrus had gone outside, and she hoped he was close to the house. She certainly had no plans to get herself lost again today.
The weather had warmed a little, the afternoon sun warming the air. She stood and looked around, taking in the other buildings, in her rush to get away earlier she had not taken much notice.
There was a garage, and a barn. Other small buildings were dotted around, and she heard the sound of chickens. There was no sign of him, so she decided to start with the closest building and work her way around.
First was the garage, it was empty apart from a rusted old tractor. Next, she went to the barn, opening the door she slipped inside, hopeful to find him here because the door had not been locked . Inside were a few goats, bleating at her as she passed by.
“Hello,” she said, tickling their heads as she passed by.
“We get our milk from them.”
Maggie visibly jumped at his voice. She turned but could not see him. “Cyrus?” she asked, her body trembling. He excited her, the danger of him, coupled with innocence.
    “Up here.”
She looked up, and sure enough, there he was. To reach him she would have to climb a rickety old ladder. Keeping her eye on him she went to the bottom of the ladder, it was obvious he was not going to come down.
“Can I come up?” she asked, not wanting to invade his space if he really wanted to be alone.
    “If you want.”
She smiled, playing hard to get. OK, she could work with that. At least he had not moved away from her. Looking doubtfully at the ladder she took hold of it and began to climb.
She was half way up before she began to feel dizzy, hesitating she looked down, thinking she was not too high. The ground seemed to call to her, and she felt herself being pulled towards the ground.
“Look up. Look at me.” Cyrus commanded.
Maggie did as he told her, fixing her eyes on him. “What's wrong with me?”
“You have a touch of vertigo.”
“Vertigo. How could I not know that?” Her voice sounded nervous.
“Keep your eyes on me, and put one foot in front of the other.” He moved so he was at the top of the ladder, looking down on her.
Maggie took a deep breath. “I can do this,” she whispered.
    “Yes. You can.”
She did as he told her, fixing him in her vision, trying to enjoy the way he got bigger the closer she got. He was her reward when she got to the top. One foot on the next rung, pull up, repeat. Simple. Then why was her heart still racing. She tried to convince herself it was the thought of what she would like to do with Cyrus, up here out of sight.
Finally, she reached him. He reached down and placed his hand on hers. “Got you. You're safe now.”
With one last effort, she pushed herself up and he dragged her into his arms. Their lips found each other, and she pressed her curvy body into his hard muscular frame and felt safe, his lips erasing the panic she had felt only moments before. His hands roamed her body, igniting a fire in her that only his touch could quench.
Cyrus laid her down on the hay, covering her body with his. He was more confident this time, and he took her shirt off, kissing the top of her breasts before
