against his thigh, leaving a red mark. “Sadly, this stallion is asleep. You cannot be ridden in your current state, for I cannot mount you. Ready yourself for me or I will have to discipline you with this whip.”
He glared at her with murderous eyes as she removed her gown. The sight of her nude did nothing to arouse him . His every thought involved killing her, preferably using a slow method that would leave her in tremendous pain. He was not violent by nature; he was quite the opposite. He was not a warrior; he was a controlled and intelligent type of person, as well as an artist and a musician. Right now, he felt like going to war with the bitch.
“ I do not like my males soft!” She looked pointedly at his nether regions and hissed in frustration. “How can I make you gallop if you cannot even trot! ” She hefted the whip and struck him forcefully on his legs. “I order you to display proper appreciation of my charms, you mule.”
His flame filled eyes reflected his outrage. “Release me now. I have no interest in being your stallion.”
She responded by striking him with the whip. A fter several minutes of voicing ineffective threats, she breathed a heavy sigh. “Eunuch, ready him for me,” she said.
Drest yelled a string of obscenities as one of the eunuchs grabbed his sex and started to massage it. He desperately tried to break free of the bonds, but found he could not move. He threatened to murder the eunuch if he did not stop molesting him, and he must have gotten his point across, because the eunuch stepped away from him and started to cower.
The countess looked at him with disgust etched on her red splotched face. “This display of violence from you will not be tolerated, Lord Woodcock. I will leave you in this room by yourself for some time so that you can meditate and calm your self . We will begin again when I return.”
He watched them all exit the room, and in moments, he was alone. He was in a rage, which would impede his progress toward breaking free of the bonds. He was only mildly skilled with the ability to weaken metal with his mind, so it would take some time. With only the briefest amount of effort, h e turned himself invisible by bending the light around his body. I t was a skill he had mastered long ago. It was not necessary that he make himself unseen, but it made him feel better. He concentrated on calming himself and focusing on the shackles. He felt some relief when the collar and chains were freed from his neck. Ten minutes into it, he felt a light object hit him just below his stomach. He glanced in that direction and saw that it was a silk scarf; it must have fallen from the ceiling. He tried to dislodge it, but it remained on his body.

CHAPTER FIVE
Eden wondered why the countess was in such a crappy mood . She watched her storm from her chambers; she tried to move out of her path, but the countess barreled straight toward her. “Countess, can I assist you with anything?”
Nefertiti huffed a response and started to dismiss her. When Eden started to pass down the hall, the countess waved her over. “I need you to fetch something for me in my bedchamber. It is a small purple jar that is on the table beside my bed . Do not bring me the blue jar; I only want the purple one. I’ll be in the pink salon, so you can bring the item to me. And do not linger in my parlor; that would be unwise. Head directly to my chambers.”
Eden hurrie d to the countess ’s rooms, intending to perform the errand as quickly as possible. She wondered why she was told not to linger in the parlor, because the parlor was empty. She passed near the bed and was about to head straight toward the door to the countess ’s bedchamber when she saw something incredibly odd. A scarf was hovering over the bed, seemingly suspended in mid-air. It was impossible and it appeared to be remaining in place in that incredible position through some sort of magic. Such strange parlor tricks; what else was the
