dessert as well. I’ve been so indulgent today, why stop now?”
“Ooh, I just love rich and decadent. Lead the way.”
Kathy did just that, and after a leisurely lunch the girls headed home with a rich gateau for dessert.

Ice’s meeting was straightforward and held no surprises. He’d handed in his report on the students, so the rest of the day was his own. He’d made plans the previous evening to go water skiing with the guys. Wolf had a new speedboat and was anxious to give it a run, so they’d organized to meet around twelve.
Ice turned into the marina parking lot just on midday. Spotting Hawk leap out of his pickup, he pulled into the vacant spot alongside and cut the engine.
“Welcome to pickup central.” Hawk laughed, indicating the bevy of pickups gracing the parking lot.
Ice did a three sixty, the kid was spot on. “Must be the flavor of the month.” He chortled back.
Hawk lifted his eyes skyward. “It’s a good day for it.”
Ice nodded in agreement. Removing his skis from the back of the truck he fell into step beside Hawk, and both headed to where Wolf moored his boat.
The conditions were ideal for skiing. The water was calm and the wind was at a minimum. When they arrived at the pier, Wolf was stowing his skis on board. This was the saucy red speedboat’s maiden voyage, and he’d even had the name Red-Hot emblazoned in large black lettering on the side.
“Sweet,” Ice remarked on seeing it, though he had to wonder whether it was the boat or the owner that was red-hot. He suspected the latter.
“Where’s Havoc?” Hawk asked.
“Right behind you mate.”
Lucas Kincaid loped up behind them. He was the last member of the team. A big, easy-going Australian with a wicked sense of humor and extraordinarily talented with a knife. Fast, accurate and deadly.
The glistening water slapped against the hull as the trio loaded their gear and jumped aboard. Wolf pulled back on the throttle and guided the boat into the bay.
“What did you do to yourself man?” Wolf asked, pointing to the bruise on Ice’s forehead.
Shit. Frosty hadn’t noticed it trust Wolf too. Ice didn’t see the need to go into details so brushed it off as no big deal. “Tripped in the dark.”
“Wasted were you?” Havoc laughed.
“Something like that.”
“Where’d you get to last night?” Hawk wanted to know. “One minute you were stalking Hot Tits, the next you’d disappeared.”
“Yeah man, you missed your chance big time, you should’ve stuck around. Not long after you split, she gave that kid who’d been mauling her the short shift, then she and her pal stormed by on their way out giving us an eyeful, and Hawk’s right, she’s got the hottest set of ta tas I’ve seen in a long time.” Wolf grinned.
“Yeah, I’m sorry I missed the fun last night, Wolf told me she’s got a right nice ass too.” Havoc, an ass man from way back, tacked on.
Of all the dumb luck. “You guys place too much emphasis on who you think I’m interested in. As I said last night, there’s plenty more women out there, it’s a veritable smorgasbord. And you’re right, she was hot, but I’ve seen better.” Not in this lifetime though.
Ice was doubly pissed. First, he’d left the damned club early and missed his opportunity with Doe Eyes. Second, he’d let his poker face slip, and the guys had picked up on his interest in her straight away.
He was a private person. He didn’t want them knowing how taken he was with her. So taken in fact, he’d decided that after dinner with Liz and the old broad, he was going to hightail it back to the club in case she turned up. If he struck out, he’d go for a run tomorrow at the same time he’d spotted her today, and who knows, he might just get lucky.

The guys spent a top afternoon skiing and even had time for a spot of fishing. Hawk managed to catch a couple that were big enough for a feed. Wolf suggested they head over to his place for a cook out, have
