had to constantly work at getting the color she wanted while watching she did not burn.
“Yeah,” Katherine agreed absent-mindedly. She was busy trying to shoo away thoughts of Mr. Gardner touching her pussy, while watching the late morning sun dance on the calm surface of the pool.
“Are you listening to me at all, Kath?”
“I am. Boys are clumsy and crude. And they wonder why we like older guys.”
“I swear, no more boys under twenty-five. I swear Jared was the best lay ever.” Jared was Sandra’s former twenty-five year old boyfriend, who she met at a club using her fake ID when she was under age. They had a torrid fling until he found out how old she was and dropped her like she was radioactive, surely worried about how jail could derail his budding financial career. Sandra had been with boys in the years since, but she still went on about Jared. Was that how it would be with Mr. Gardner, Katherine wondered. If no other guys could make her orgasm the way he did would she be left always thinking about him?
“You’re probably right, college guys are better.” Or maybe even older guys , Katherine thought.
“We’ll be beating them off with sticks in a couple months. Living on campus will be totally different than commuting.”
“I just can’t wait to get to school and have some freedom. It’s not just about guys.”
“Bite your tongue. You obviously haven’t been with the right guys. Didn’t Cody know what he was doing?”
    “Cody was fine.”
    “Fine?”
“Good, I mean Cody was good. We had a lot of fun together.”
“Well, Kat, there’s fun and then there’s fun . You really need to come out to the club with us again.”
    “I don’t know, maybe.”
Katherine did have a fake ID, although she’d only gotten it in the past year and only after she couldn’t take Sandra’s nagging about it any longer. After she got the ID, Sandra insisted she use it, so one night Katherine accompanied some of her more adventurous friends—who’d had theirs for years—and went to a club downtown. When they came to the front of the line she was excited by the thumping music spilling out onto the street and all the smartly dressed people around her, but did not think she would really get to see what was going on inside. Would the bouncer really believe she was twenty-seven-year-old, organ donor “Daisy George” from Wisconsin? Katherine didn’t think so, even though she followed Sandra’s advice, wearing one of her friend’s more outrageous dresses and allowing the blonde to layer the make-up on. Sandra explained that if you had enough cleavage showing, the bouncer never really looked at the ID anyway. Katherine held her breath while the beefy Samoan examined the fake driver’s license and then looked her over. Sure enough, his eyes never reached above her pushed-up, exposed breasts and he waved her right inside.
Being inside the club was unlike anything Katherine had ever experienced. She felt uncomfortable with all of mature people around her, but after Sandra pressed the second drink into her hand she did not care as much. All she could taste was vodka, but there must have just been a dash of cranberry juice for color. She and her friends danced together in a tight group and Katherine was having a fantastic time, but as more guys became interested in them her friends were peeled away to dance one-on-one with men. Katherine ended up dancing with a handsome guy who looked close to thirty. Fortunately, he was respectful and kept his hands to himself. She saw the guy Sandra was dancing with had his hands all over her friend, though Sandra did not seem to mind.
Katherine had fun at the club that night, but it was a bit too much for her. She didn’t appreciate being groped by a dozen anonymous guys every time she pushed through a crowd and by the end of the evening she’d had too much to drink and was sick by the side of the road. Since then she’d turned down her friends’ offers to join them at
