tomatoes and bacon flying off his plate and down his throat.
Wow. And I thought I could eat.
“Alright. Let’s start with a tour of the grounds and you can meet some of our other brothers.”
Jacky gave them both a huge smile and shoveled some of the eggs into her mouth, growing excitement building in her chest. Being able to spend her days exploring this property was a dream come true.
    “By myself?”
    Raylock grunted. “No way.”
She looked to Ashten, the calmer and more communicative of the two.
    “It’s not safe, beautiful.”
“But you said there are rules about what can happen on your land. What could possibly happen if I stick close to the lodge?”
    “No.”
Ashten smiled gently at her. “One of us will come with you, especially to start with. Once you learn your way around the place, we’ll see.”
    “Oh thank you!”
She jumped for Ashten, giving him a kiss on the lips, then leaned over to kiss Raylock.
Raylock grunted and kept eating. “We’ll see.”

Chapter 4.
The afternoon was simply beautiful, sunny, clear skies with a little breeze.
“Please, please, please. Let’s go explore!”
Raylock stood up, pulling on a shirt.
“I have to go deal with a vampire situation. We were dealing with it when you and Karen turned up and we got called home. Some of the boys turned up last night and left word that the situation has got worse.”
“Vampires? Really? Now that’s cool.” Visions of sexy, ancient men swam through her head and Ashten growled next to her.
“Don’t go romanticizing them like the movies do. Vampires can be vengeful and especially nasty about property. And since they live practically forever, it means everyone has a beef with everyone else. It’s a pain in our arses.”
Jacky frowned. “All of them? What a shame.”
Raylock grunted. “No, not all. Some of them are decent people just wanting to go about their business, but this Amire crew… they aren’t seeing sense and I’m not sure we’ll be able to make them see it.”
Jacky bounced over to her huge man-mountain and threw her arms around his neck.
“Well, good luck then. I’ll see you later?”
He nodded once and dropped his head for a kiss that took her breath away and did nothing to douse the always smoldering fire in her belly.
    “You will. Be careful.”
He stomped off and she was left alone with Ashten.
She turned and gave him her biggest smile. “Where shall we begin?”
    ****
Ashten held tight to his beautiful mate’s hand as they traipsed around the land, pointing out sights, animals and trees she wanted to know about. She had a hundred questions and her enthusiasm was a joy to watch.
“This is all so beautiful, Ashten! Let’s get higher, I want to see the view.”
Jacky broke off from his hand, the coldness as she left him rushing over him was amazingly powerful and he took off after her. She was running through the forest, her happy laughter echoing around him like the most beautiful music.
“I’m going to catch you.” He growled playfully and darted around the trees, pinching at her gorgeous bum and letting her continue to run.
Ashten growled and stomped, his heart pumping and adrenaline streaking through his blood as he ran in the sunshine with his mate.
They broke free of the forest and Jacky splashed into the low stream that flowed at the boundary of their property.
Shit. I didn’t realize we were this far out.
“Do polar bears like water?” She teased as she kicked her legs in the cold water, her delighted face one of true beauty.
He stood still and watched her stretch her arms out wide, turning her face towards the soft winter sun.
“We love it actually. This is the boundary to our land. It runs the south and eastern borders.”
He pointed down towards the area where the river winded between two massive Alaskan cypress trees.
    “Really? Who owns this side?”
Jacky jumped out of the stream and strolled towards the farm next to them.
    Ashten’s heart began
