matter of time, you see.” Jonnie waved him over.
He left Bobby and joined Jonnie. The old man looked thoughtful. “Don’t you worry about LeeLee. She’ll come around. I didn’t raise no fool.” Jonnie stopped and faced him, l like a proud father would to a son. “You done good on that track. You remind me of somebody from his younger days.” He winked. “I think I just found me my new lead driver. What do you think, son?”
He couldn’t contain his smile. “I’d say you won’t be disappointed with my driving or with my intentions with Eileen.”
“Good. Now, get your ass out of here. I have an ex driver to deal with.” Jonnie patted him on the back and walked away, whistling like a man on top of the world.

Chapter Seven

After the fight with Bobby, and Pop firing him, Eileen felt a huge weight lifted from her shoulders. Then her father confessed his conversation with Tyrone. She was glad Bobby was gone. Making things right with Ty was of the utmost importance. Not believing him made her feel terrible, and she knew he hadn’t meant to hurt her. If the roles had been reversed, she would’ve reacted the same way.
After midnight and a few glasses of wine, she ascended the steps to Ty’s apartment. Taking a few deep breaths, she worked up the courage to knock on the door. Not knowing what to expect, she couldn’t blame him if he chose to ignore her.
After the way she had spoken to him, she deserved it.
No answer. Just when she was about to turn away, the door whipped open. Ty’s wet body loomed in the doorway. A white towel hung loose over his hips. She swallowed, trying not to stare too hard.
    “I…I’m sorry. I was just—”
“Checking up on me?” The corner of his delicious mouth tipped up.
She blushed. “I came to apologize. I was an asshole. And I—”
He put a finger to her lips and yanked her inside, shutting the door behind them.
“I’m a big man, I can handle it.” He smiled down at her, his eyes dark and dangerous. “But I must confess, you had me confused for a while there. I don’t want you as a means to advance in this place.”
She nodded, unable to speak just yet.
He reached out and touched her cheek. “I want you because you make me feel good. That’s the simple truth.”
She stared up at him with hot tears filling her eyes. She opened her mouth to respond but managed a pathetic whimper. He didn’t give her a chance to catch herself. With a deep growl, he leaned down and kissed her, turning her mind to empty space.
“Oh, God, I’m sorry.” She pulled away to stare up at him. “I should never have doubted you.”
Ty silenced her with another kiss, sliding his hot tongue over her lips then into her mouth. Eileen whimpered, already aroused from the erotic contact. He managed to make her weak-kneed within moments of dragging her through the door. Already hot and wet, she dug her fingernails into his hard and gorgeous ass cheeks.
This was the last thing she’d expected to happen after today.
He picked her up and carried her to the bed, which had been made with the covers pulled back. A popular show where women had men tested to find out who the father of their baby was played in the background.
“You watch that shit?” she asked, staring at him with an amused grin.
No sooner than those words were spoken, he silenced her with another hot kiss and laid her back on the mattress. The poor, old sofa bed squeaked in protest when he sprawled on top of her. Then he shoved up her shirt while tugging her bra down at the same time, exposing her breasts. She shuddered as he rolled a tight nipple between his teeth and bit down.
“Sometimes watching other people’s drama makes me forget my own,” he said, before directing his attention to the other nipple. “I’m glad you came here. You had me worried it was over before it even started.”
When he thrust against her crotch, she gasped. “I realized that I would’ve done the same thing if I was
