completion. But then again, he shouldn’t have been surprised. Knowing the effort she always put into his class was one of the reasons he was attracted to her.
“I can do that.” He grinned. “Give it to me when you’re finished.”
They both gasped at a sharp rap on the door.
She clutched his arm. “Are you expecting anyone?”
“No.” Seth balled his fists, hoping whoever it was would think he wasn’t in his office and go away.
Another knock. Only this one was louder.
“Just a minute,” Seth growled.
“Shit,” Celeste hissed, letting go of his arm and scrambling for her backpack and shoes.
“Don’t panic.” He surveyed the remnants of their lovemaking. Couch cushions were everywhere, an empty wine bottle and two toppled glasses were lying on the floor. “We’ll just clean this up.” He snatched pillows, shoving them back in place on the sofa.
“Maybe I should hide,” she suggested while slipping a foot in each heel.
“Go in my bathroom.” He picked up the bottle and glasses, handing them to her. “Here, take these with you.”
The rapping turned to loud bangs. Celeste swore again, scrambling for the bathroom.
Seth quickly smoothed his fingers over his clothes, trying his best to flatten any wrinkles while taking long strides toward the door.
He opened just in time to see a campus security cop fumbling with a master set of keys.
“Hey, Jordan, what’s up?” Luckily, Seth knew this cop from the gym. He’d even been in the practice ring with him a few times. Jordan would be cool—he hoped.
Jordan puffed his chest while trying to peer around Seth’s shoulder. “I thought I heard screaming coming from your office.”
“Screaming?” Seth scratched his head.
“Yeah.” The cop folded his arms across his chest.
“I was…just watching the boxing match on TV.” Seth pointed toward the small television set at the back of the room before mentally kicking himself in the ass. The damn thing was turned off.
“Boxing?” Jordan’s eyes lit up. “Hey, mind if I join you?”
“Sorry, buddy.” In a grand sweep of his arm, Seth checked the time on his watch. “I’ve got a lecture in a few minutes.”
“Damn. Well, I’ll let you get to it.” Jordan leaned in, pretending a feint to Seth’s left shoulder. “Sorry for bothering you.”
“No problem. Thanks for checking.” He closed the door, having no patience to engage in a pretend boxing match.
With a sigh of resignation, he realized Celeste had to leave before any more visitors came to his office. Besides, he did have the lecture. Hurrying to the bathroom, he called through the door. “All Clear.”
Celeste came out, patting her shirt with a wet paper towel. “That was close.”
“Yeah,” he mumbled, gaze glued to her chest. Her shirt fabric soaked in the water, making it nearly transparent. The scent of wine rose up from her chest. Had they spilled wine during lovemaking? He was so absorbed in the great sex he hadn’t noticed.
Large green eyes searched his, a line marring her brow. “I don’t want to get you fired.”
“You won’t.” He grasped her shoulders, planting a kiss on her forehead. “We’ll just have to be more careful. What are you doing this weekend?”
“There’s this fraternity party…” She clamped her mouth shut, eyes shifting as if she was searching for the right words. “But I don’t have to go.” The corners of her lips turned up in a tender smile, while she reached out, trailing a hand up his chest.
One touch and his skin was electrified, anticipating another chance to fuck his beautiful student. “I’ve got this cabin in the mountains. Very secluded. No interruptions, so we can continue our…tutoring sessions.”
She broke into a wide grin, running her fingers down his biceps. “Sounds wonderful.”
He pulled away and grabbed a pen and paper off his desk, hastily scribbling his cell number. Grasping her elbow, he guided her toward the door. He cracked it open, checking
