to place her upon the ground and claim her fully as a male of their species did. How amusing that he’d run right to her in an attempt to avoid what fate had in store for him.
As the last of his seed spilled into her, he put his forehead to hers. “I shall take you to my home. There you will be announced as my wife.”
She jerked free from him, her eyes wide as she pushed on his chest to get down. He released her, easing her to her feet with care. She bent to grab her clothing and in doing so pushed her ass cheeks against his cock, making it harden again. He had only just left her body and already he craved more.
He ran his hand on her spine. “My little human, we should dress and return to the castle. We chance fate remaining exposed out here so close to the borders still.”
She pivoted and stared at him with the same wide eyes she’d had before dismounting him. “Stop calling me your little human, and what in tarnation do you mean by take me home and make me your wife?”
“That is what one does with one’s mate,” he said, reaching out and fondling her breast with one hand. He wanted to place his dick between the round globes and fuck them, all while watching his seed splash upon her neck. The idea left him stroking himself and licking his lower lip. It had been far too long since his cock had been this ready, this full of desire.
He knew then what Aeson had spoken of—that once he found his mate, he’d want for no other. It was true. Lucy had fallen into his arms and into his life, and now he could not foresee a moment without her.
    A human?
He could not believe himself, but he desired her, and he would not permit her to be harmed, nor would he take her back to this Southern she wished to return to. She was his wife. His bonded mate. He would make her see the beauty of his realm. She would want to stay with him.
No woman ever wanted to leave him.
“Take me home!” she spat. “I screwed a guy with wings who is also crazy. We can’t get married. We just met, not to mention, I’m human, you’re not. I bet there are laws against that sort of thing.”
He nodded. “At one point in time, yes. That changed when my brother, the king, decreed it legal to wed humans. Fitting, as his wife, the queen, is human.”
Her jaw dropped open. “Your brother is the king?”
    He nodded again.
    “Then you’re a prince?”
He wasn’t sure why she needed this explained. It all seemed rather clear to him. Perhaps the fall his mate had sustained had injured her head. “Yes.”
    “I screwed a prince!”
Rossi stiffened at her words. He had heard the term “piece of meat” from Paige before. He now understood her meaning. He felt like a piece of meat. What he was told he made women feel like all the time.
It was not a pleasant feeling. He could understand now how some would not wish to feel this way ever.
“Take me home,” she said again. “This instant.”
He caught her wrist as she attempted to dress herself. “No.”
She gave him a look that made him second-guess his last statement. “Excuse me? No?”
He was a warrior. Warriors did not cower to females. “No.”
Her gaze narrowed and much to his dismay, he began to cower. Cursed Magaious, she had witchy woman eyes when angry. “You are my wife.”
“Am not,” she said, her tone reminding him of a child.
He nearly gave her the same petulant child speech he’d received earlier from his brother. “ Ta’konima, we mated fully. You said you accepted me, and in doing so, you accepted my seed and my magik. You will live as long as we do, you are more than likely carrying my offspring and, if not yet, you soon will be.”
Suddenly, it mattered not to him if his offspring were full-blooded or not.
She leapt back, her breasts bouncing more as she struggled to contain them under the garment saying Rebels. “Shut up!”
“I speak the truth,” he said. “You felt the pull to me as I to you. Or, am I to believe you give yourself to every male
