up like a swirling sea of sand. “What
    are you doing here?”
“You’re not my keeper,” Tanner growled, his pupils larger than they should be and yes, that was true.
He sounded very much with it and Damon just had to hope that Tanner’s consent—when and if he gave it—wouldn’t
    be the drugs talking.
Damon didn’t think it would be. “I’m not your keeper, but you’re damned happy to see me, aren’t you, little boy?”
Tanner tugged at the bonds hard for a few seconds and then gave up, remaining stil . Knowing Damon was his only
way out and stil being stubborn.
“You realize what they’re going to do to you, right? And you being a top and al , getting fucked might not be what you’d
    planned. Or did you?”
“No. I’ve never been fu—” Tanner started and then stopped. Buried his cheek against the pil ow a nd Damon’s heart
    tugged.
How could the boy know if he was a bottom if he was stil a virgin? No wonder Tanner was confused as hel . Damon
had assumed he’d bottomed for men who didn’t know what the hel they were doing, but this was an entirely different
    situation.
“Last night…was that the first time someone put a dildo inside of you?”
Tanner nodded, his breath a hiccup.
“Okay, breathe, Tanner. Please breathe.” Damon was tel ing himself that too, because he was suddenly having
trouble pul ing air into his lungs. The boy was far too vulnerable here and Damon had been there himself and goddammit,
he couldn’t let Tanner’s first time be here—not like this.
He’d tied men down for years—but there was nothing consenting about this situation. And stil , there would have to be
some sort of show to satisfy Joe. Tanner would have to consent to Damon. “I’m going to get you out…but I’l have to guide
    you through a scene.”
Tanner protested by fighting the bonds so hard Damon was afraid he’d break his wrists. “Can’t we just get the hel out
    of here?”
    “There are rules. Protocol.”
“Fuck your rules. You broke your own rules last night,” Tanner spit out and yes, this was al about what happened last
night. Tanner took what happened as the rejection it was. Damon hadn’t realized how deeply it had affected him until this
    moment.
And stil , he needed to talk some sense into him. “You’re going to have to do what I say now.”
    “Forget it,” Tanner said roughly.
“They’re going to fuck you,” Damon told him. “Do you want them instead of me?”
Tanner’s breath hitched. “No. But I don’t want to do this here with you…not like this.”
    “You have no choice.”
“Please,” Tanner whispered and his plea yanked at Damon harder than he thought possible.
There was a long moan from the bathroom and time was up. The bathroom door opened a few moments later, with
Joe stumbling out on shaky legs and Hunt behind him with a self-satisfied look.
Joe leaned against the wal , said, “I’m waiting, Damon. Because if he’s not yours—”
“I’m not yours either, Joe—so fucking untie me,” Tanner demanded, and that’s when Damon replaced his hand on the
    back of Tanner’s neck.
“Stop, boy. Now. I know that I need to do this now. I have to show them that you’re mine,” Damon murmured. “Fol ow
    my lead.”
“Fuck you,” Tanner muttered, loud enough for Joe and Hunt to hear. Joe merely raised an eyebrow and then said, “I
    think someone needs a lesson.”
For the first time that night, Damon actual y agreed with him.
“Are yo u always this self-destructive when yo u come home from combat?” Damon growled i n hi s ear, a nd Tanner
    realized he’d played with fire a nd would have t o suffer the consequences—there would b e n o easy wa y o ut o f this
    situation at al .
Lately, yes, he had been completely self-destructive. But he was humiliated and pissed and so fucking needy al at the
    same time, h e didn’t know what t o sa y o r d o . Instead, h e buried hi s face into the pil ow again a nd hoped
