it" list, having discovered ways to get out of it once they are spread on a bed or the floor or against a wall. There is no secret here to getting free, but I have found that using single hand cuffs with large snap hooks and/or spring releases lets me get into this position. As long as my fingers can reach and operate the spring-loaded snaps, I can escape.
    Ball Tie
This is also a popular position, but it may be too strenuous for many people, especially if you have enough meat on your stomach that you have trouble touching your toes standing up. The ball tie works best with lots and lots of rope, either in one long, single length or in several shorter, easier to handle sections. I find that doing the whole ball bound thing is slow going and often I just give up before it gets tight enough to enjoy. If you do it, tie your ankles first and then wrap rope around the legs and up over your back, being careful about your neck. If you do it right, you leave a loop hanging down your back for your hands and ending near your butt or better yet, on your waist rope where it crosses your spine. Once you have the compression of upper body and upper legs secure, then reach back and put your hands in the loop at your waist. Keep a sharp knife or scissors handy, as you might need them if the hand loop won't release.
One consideration to be understood about a self-tied ball position is that while is exposes your ass and sex rather blatantly, you may not get the release you seek because of the constriction. Nevertheless, I find the ball position a useful variation and have adapted nipple-to-knee cords, a tongue ring to clit ring chain and a few other small additions as helpful from time to time.
    Chained and abandoned
As dull as it may sound, this scenario is very popular. Left in a closed room, (or better yet, a cage, cave or actual cell), you are allowed to do as little or as much restraint as you wish. If you have plenty of time, you can invent all sorts of diabolical situations. One such scene has you locking yourself into a combination of chains, (or rope fitted as a chain set would), on a tether or leash, but being permitted to do whatever you might otherwise do if you were alone. Sit in a chair, watch TV, work on a computer, make dinner, use the bathroom or just curl up and go to sleep in your bondage. I do this frequently when the urge to be stringently bound is not there, but I want to be restrained and to enjoy the sense of being controlled and restricted. Certainly, there are all sorts of ways to enhance this situation, from a locked-on brank, hood or head harness to a full body harness and other internal accessories.
How this is all carried out is up to the individual, but it might be said that one reason so many of us often engage in this sort of SB is because it can be relaxing and still satisfies the latent need to be restrained.
    Caged or crated
At the opposite end of the above scene is that of being enclosed in a highly restrictive cage, coffin or box. Elsewhere in this book, there is a lengthy story about using cages, so I won't devote much to it here except to say that if you find the feeling of total body compression and enclosure appealing, a nice small cage with heavy bars can be a delight. The best cage designs I know of incorporate movable sides and top so that once inside, you can adjust the confinement to suit. If you want this kind of restraint, but cannot get a real, heavy-duty metal cage, there are kennel-style substitutes that you may find interesting. I see these as symbolic rather than actual cages, but they can work and are usually designed to fold up when not in use.
Locked in a wooden crate can also be a joyous experience. You can make one yourself with a few tools, a well-planned design and some room to store it. I have a crate in my bedroom that is normally used to store my SB equipment, but, emptied out it can serve as a more
