    â€œJamie and Mia think the only obstacle is convincing you.” The tone in Caleb’s voice alerted him. Damn, the guy really did see too much. Aidan kept his eyes on the bowl of cereal so Caleb couldn’t see his expression. “Is that right?”
    â€œI told them they might be overestimating the problem.” Caleb paused to take another sip of coffee. “What man wouldn’t want the free pass to have sex with his lover’s best friend?”
    Was that what Caleb thought? Aidan would let Caleb continue to operate under that mistaken belief. “You already agreed to it?”
    Caleb nodded. “Jamie thinks I’ll be doing her a favor.”
    That just showed how smart Caleb was. Aidan wanted this guy as his ally. “Why do you want to do it?”
    Caleb appeared surprised by the question. “Despite what you think, it’s not to get into Mia’s bed.”
    Aidan knew he should feel a spurt of jealousy, but all he could think of was Caleb and Mia in bed together. Her slender body would arch underneath Caleb’s. She would grab his ass, her fingers digging into his tight muscles. Caleb would thrust into her, the sound of wet flesh and low growls echoing in the room. Aidan clenched his hand, bending the forgotten spoon.
    â€œSettle down.” Caleb stared at the bent utensil in Aidan’s fist. “I’m not interested in Mia. I want Jamie.”
    Aidan tossed the spoon onto the table. “You have her.”
    â€œFor another couple of days,” he said with a hint of bitterness. “Then she’s heading off to who knows where, and I don’t plan to be left behind.”
    â€œOh, I get it. You think if you instantly agree to swap partners, you gain brownie points. She’ll know that you aren’t holding her back or judging her.” Aidan cast Caleb a look of admiration. “That might work.”
    Caleb nodded. “So the sooner we do this, the better.”
    â€œDon’t hold your breath.” Aidan pushed away the cereal bowl.
    â€œMia might say she’s ready, but it’s going to take her a while to get used to the idea.”
    â€œIf Jamie wants to do it before she leaves, it’ll happen.”
    Aidan couldn’t argue with that. “What’s Jamie’s strategy?”
    â€œShe wants Mia to explore her sexual boundaries.”
    Aidan rubbed his hand over his chin. “So anything goes?”
    â€œYep.”
    Aidan caught Caleb’s sly smile and he went into full alert. “You have something else in mind, don’t you? It’s not just to get on Jamie’s good side.”
    Caleb held his hands up. “I’m all for swapping partners. The swap may not work out exactly as Jamie hopes. . . .”
    Aidan’s eyes narrowed. If he didn’t get Mia or Jamie, then that left . . . “Whoa!” He pushed his chair back as the fight-or-flight instinct pounded through his veins. “You and me?”
    Caleb laughed. “Don’t flatter yourself.”
    â€œGood,” Aidan said with relief. But Caleb’s explanation niggled at his mind. Jamie had a plan, and Aidan wanted to be prepared. “Did Jamie say how she wanted it to play out?”
    â€œShe didn’t tell me anything.” Caleb took another sip of coffee. “So how about it? Are you going to swap?”
    Aidan knew now was the time to feign reluctance. It was the only way to get what he wanted without too many questions. “It’s not that I don’t trust you. . . .”
    Caleb gave a snort. “Yeah, right.”
    â€œBut if Mia agrees to this, I’m not going to interfere.”
    Caleb couldn’t hide his surprise. “Really?”
    Aidan nodded. “As long as I get to set some ground rules.”
