I guess.”
Not many people know about Ryder and Phoebe’s hot affair they had a couple of years ago, it ended quite badly so it’s a good thing Blake doesn’t know about it. Ryder Oakley is the biggest rock God of our time. Not only can the man sing, but he can play any instrument that’s placed into his hands. He’s the complete package. All tall, tattooed, muscles, and with the most sultry eyes I’ve ever seen. He’s a big-time player, though, always with different women, and the paparazzi follow his every step.
“We’ll get some lunch, and then I need to hit the gym. I’m dragging it out for as long as I can before I need to be in Westbeach.”
She laughs. “Oh boy, this is going to be good. I’ve heard that he’s been a little bad with the ladies lately. I think you have nothing to worry about.”
    She’s referring to Ade.
I pull the door to our favorite café open. “Yeah, you’re probably right.”
I hope he doesn’t remember me. What’s the chances of him remembering me? He’s probably been with hundreds of girls since then.

Dropping my shopping bags on the table, I twist my hair up into a messy top bun while I make my way into my room to throw on some workout clothes. My job alone would give any woman enough workout time, but all the extra exercise I do is for the sole purpose of eating more. You know energy in vs. energy out and all that.
“Carter, you home?” I yell while I strip down to my bra and panties, replacing my black lace bra for my sports one.
“Damn girl, if I were straight I would be tap’n that ass,” he says, leaning against my doorframe.
I roll my eyes. “You and I both know that isn’t true. I’m so scared about tomorrow that I’m going to sweat all my problems out at the gym.”
He walks in to help me with pulling on my tight tank top. “Why are you going so early? Isn’t the wedding this weekend?” I pick up my yoga pants and jump around, trying to get them past my fat ass.
“Yes, but Vicky is having a meltdown and begged me to come down earlier to help with all the things she needs help with. Also, it’s the hen’s night on Friday and there’s no way I’m missing that.”
I bend over to pick up the mess from clothes I left on the floor and Carter smacks my ass before replying, “And…what if Beyoncé called and she needed you on her video?” His eyebrows are raised.
I slip my shoes on and pick up my keys. “Then I’ll need to tell her to call Sophie. She’s just as good as me.”
He scoffs. “No, she is not. Last time you gave Sophie to one of your clients, she went all diva on them.”
Carter doesn’t like Sophie, they constantly fight when we’re all together. It’s exhausting to say the least.
“It’s fine, Carter, I’ll be back in two weeks. But right now, I need to hit the gym.”
I make my way to The Pit, Vicky’s brother Dominic owns it. He and I are—well, we are close. I walk in through the big sliding doors and greet the receptionist, who doesn’t like me by the way because she thinks Dom and I are seeing each other. I’ve given up caring what people think about our friendship years ago. Swiping my card, I smile at her anyway before making my way to the second level, where all the cardio equipment is located. Punching in forty minutes on the treadmill, I run my little heart out. Every level of the gym is surrounded by glass. There are no walls, so people walking past can always see inside. It was Dom’s idea of making women feel safe. I look to the hallway and see Dom walking down when he sees me, he smiles and opens the door. Turning my treadmill off, I pull my earphones out of my ears.
“Hey, I thought you’d be in Westbeach by now?” he asks, pulling me in for a hug.
I shake my head, taking a drink of water. “I’ve been sort of putting it off, I guess.”
He raises his eyebrows. “Oh? Why might that be?”
I take a seat on the treadmill. “I may have…slept with Ade a couple years ago. Wish I
