and he was definitely awake. And there was definitely a large, gorgeous, naked man draped over his chest. Ben pulled in his lips to keep from laughing as he tightened his arms around Landon. His mind replayed the events from the night before and his face started to hurt, he was smiling so hard. He’d definitely broken every dating rule. He drank too much. He shared too much. He pretty much blew not giving his address out of the water when he brought Landon back to his apartment. Having sex and letting Landon sleep over were the two biggest violations. No kissing or touching below the waist obviously went out the window.
Landon mumbled as he rubbed his cheek on Ben’s chest. The hand wrapped around Ben’s ass tightened and Ben’s eyes flared. Heat rushed to his groin and he groaned. They went at it pretty hard the night before, it was probably too soon to fuck Landon again. His cock started to pulse and he quickly pushed the thought away. Ben lowered his head and kissed Landon’s hair, breathing in the soft green smell of his shampoo.
“Hey,” he whispered softly. There was a muffled rumble from Landon that Ben decided was adorable. “I’m going to make us some coffee. I’ll be back in a few minutes,” Ben said softly and grinned when Landon patted his shoulder and rolled away.
The sight of Landon’s naked ass had Ben cursing under his breath as he swung his legs over the side of the bed. He was almost completely, painfully hard as he strolled into the kitchen. His lips twisted as he considered his selection of coffee beans. In the end, he went with a French roast, deciding it was the safest choice. He filled the grinder and cringed as he turned it on. Ben looked over his shoulder and hoped that Landon was a really sound sleeper. He never liked having guys over, he usually waited until they were six or seven dates in before they were invited for dinner. But for some reason, Ben didn’t want Landon to leave. He started looking for ideas to prolong his stay or a casual way to invite him to come back.
Ben opened his fridge and scanned. He could make a decent omelet or some muffins. Muffins took a little while to bake, which was a bonus. His heart started to race. He’d never made anyone breakfast. That was something he was saving for Mr. Perfect, to prove that he was husband material. Ben remembered the texts he’d sent Michelle. He called Landon Perfect. His eyes flicked to the eggs. Then, Ben’s heart sank and he slouched as he swung the door shut. Landon couldn’t be Mr. Perfect because he was leaving in a few months.
Don’t do this to yourself, he warned. He reminded himself that there were millions of variables within the space of nine weeks. Not to mention, what might have been perfect after eight or so shots of whiskey and a dimly lit bar might not be perfect after a strong cup of coffee and a dose of reality. Ben nodded as he reached for two mugs. Maybe you won’t want him to stay after he wakes up and you have to face him in the morning light, he thought and rolled his eyes. He’d had a really good look at Landon before he got out of bed. Maybe he won’t want to stay. He might make a run for it as soon as he realizes where he is, Ben frowned as he reached into the fridge for the milk. He took a deep breath and ignored the whispers of doubt and regret that tickled the back of his brain as he poured two cups of coffee.
“You, naked and making coffee might be the most perfect thing I’ve ever seen in my life.” It was a low, rich murmur against the back of Ben’s neck as arms slid around his waist and hard heat wrapped around him. Ben hummed in delight and his eyelids fell as Landon pressed kisses to his shoulder.
“I’m sorry if the coffee grinder woke you,” Ben said as his hand glided over the arm around his waist. Landon chuckled as he nudged his cock into the cleft of Ben’s ass.
“This woke me. And I missed you,” he breathed as his teeth grazed Ben’s shoulder. Ben bit his lip
