conditional.”
“Yeah, and? It’s His heaven, His plan, you take the Jesus pill or you don’t go. You don’t like it? Make your own damn Heaven and Earth and show Him how it’s done, otherwise, take the free gift, the free Jesus pill.”
Micah shook his head, needing to steer this in another direction, this angle wasn’t panning out very well and he was getting impatient and agitated with her Theology. “Even the Jesus pill is conditional.”
“Well if you want to say that having to ask for the free gift is conditional, then yeah, be a douche. And yes, you have obligations after you accept the gift to keep it.”
    “More conditions.”
“Stop being an ass. And it’s not conditions so much as a formula.”
“Formula .” He couldn’t keep the anger out of his tone, the shit she was saying was all pointless as far as he was concerned.
“Yes, Micah, formula. Everything has order and is bound by laws, even the chaos theory is ordered chaos. Things are what they are, and the plan of redemption comes with its rules and laws, deal with it.”
H is cock and jaw hardened with her aggression and Micah nailed her with his gaze. “I envy god. To have your love and devotion…” he gasped a light laugh and stood, needing more air than the fucking planet had to offer. “That’s a real treasure.” One he needed if he were going to save her from torture and death.
“So tell me ,” she said. “All that stuff you told me in therapy…was it all bullshit?”
Micah shook his head. “ The only part that wasn’t true was me killing my little brother. My parents did that. I only wished I had killed him to keep them from using him. But I got revenge for him. I killed both of them and used their blood as payment to enter this coven. I never agreed with using innocence for power.”
Sarah was quiet for a few seconds before whispering, “And yet… here I am.”
Micah looked at her. “You were to be my last and I always pick women I feel are…”
    “ Weak?”
“Weak in the way they need in order to be spared.”
    “So sorry to disappoint.”
“Me too,” he mumbled, looking out at the ocean, wanting to drown himself in it.
” Well, for what it’s worth sweetheart, I have no regrets. I know how sick that must sound coming from a level headed psychologist, but…I have come to realize one thing where you are concerned.”
Micah turned to look at her.
“I was meant to be here. Right here. Right now.”
“What are you saying? That g od destined you to be sacrificed for him?” Fury ignited in his blood.
She shrugged. “Don’t know the details, only know it was meant.”
Micah watched her, relaxing in the moonlight, countenance of an angel. He suddenly wanted to strangle her. Why was she being so obstinate? If her god was so great and loving, then he’d not require this. And if she was so fucking smart, she’d know that. What she was doing was pointless, she didn’t gain, and god didn’t gain a damn thing. Neither did the coven, nobody won. So what if they broke another delusional Christian, what was the fucking point? There was nothing worth what was coming her way. Nothing.

Chapter Eight

Micah gripped the rails with both hands, ready to scream, fighting the desperation slowly eating away at him.
“Mmm,” Sarah sighed. “Such a beautiful night, Micah.”
“Sarah…” Micah took a deep breath , fighting for strength to stay calm. “We really need to talk.”
“No. We don’t. ” More stubborn oblivion.
His jaw hardened and his patience slipped. He wouldn’t let her do this. He couldn’t. He needed to convince her that she belonged to him, utterly and completely, god did not fit into the equation.
    “Listen to me Sarah.”
“What do you want from me, and don’t say my soul, or I’ll vomit all over your feet.”
Micah’s fury took him. “Yes, that’s exactly what I want. Your soul!” he thundered down at her. “If you never wanted to see me again, that’s fine, I
