fitting red dress with a high split on both sides. Her hair was in a high neat bun and a pair of diamond chandelier looking earrings hung from her lobes. On her feet, she wore a pair of expensive red pumps. She handed her keys to the valet parking attendant who stood out front.
“Scratch my car and I’m going to scratch your ass!” Dana said seriously, and then held out her arm. Stone intertwined his arm in hers as the two entered the restaurant. Stone stepped foot in the restaurant and immediately felt out of place. He looked around and saw several rich, white men dressed in tuxedos and expensive looking tailored suits. He looked down at his outfit and felt a little embarrassed. He had on a pair of soft bottom shoes, a pair of blue jeans, a collared shirt, and a dark colored blazer. Dana had told him to put on something nice because they were going to a nice restaurant, but he had no clue that they would be coming to such an exquisite establishment.
“Your name please?” the hostess asked politely.
“Wilford.”
The hostess searched her book until she came across Dana’s name. “Right this way,” she smiled and led them through the restaurant over towards their table.
Stone felt the eyes of all the rich couples in the restaurant assaulting him as him and Dana walked past. Some even gave him and Dana dirty looks, but none were brave enough to say anything. The hostess led Dana and Stone over to a booth in the cut. She handed them both a menu and said, “Your waitress will be with you shortly,” then turned and walked away.
The lights in the restaurant were dim and soft music played from the speakers at a low level, making the atmosphere feel even more romantic.
“So what do you think?” Dana flashed a bright smile.
“This place is magnificent,” Stone replied. “But honestly I ain’t even gonna front. I can’t afford to take you to a place like this.”
“You don’t have to pay for anything tonight. I got it. All I need you to do is enjoy yourself and have a good time,” Dana smiled. “There is nothing wrong with a woman treating her man from time to time.”
“Keep treating me like this and I might get spoiled.”
“Listen,” Dana said seriously. “I don’t want you worrying about money while you with me. I make more than enough money to take care of the both of us.”
“It’s just the man inside of me that wants to pay.”
“The amount of money you have or make doesn’t make you a man,” Dana told him. “Now keep quiet and let me take care of my baby.”
“Oh, I’m your baby now?”
“You think I would have given you all my goodies if you weren’t,” Dana seductively licked her lips.
After the two ordered their food, Stone sipped on his glass of red wine and admired Dana’s beauty for a moment. It was rare to find a woman now days with brains and beauty. Stone tried to find something wrong with Dana, but came up empty. In his eyes, she was the perfect woman and the perfect distraction from work.
“What you over there thinking about?” Dana asked, snapping Stone out of his thoughts.
“You,” Stone answered. “It’s crazy when the person you been looking for all of your life is sitting directly across from you and you can actually touch her.”
“And how are you so sure that I’m that girl?” Dana asked with a raised brow. “We haven’t even known each other that long.”
“When it’s sitting in front of you, trust me, you know.”
“What happens if you meet somebody better tomorrow?”
“Not happening,” Stone said confidently and then took another sip of his wine. “Thank you again for taking me to such a nice restaurant.”
“Boy hush,” Dana said waving him off. “How would you feel about meeting my brother?” She came right out with it.
“I don’t see that being a problem.”
“He’s supposed to be having this big party in a few weeks,” Dana explained. “And I would like for you to meet him.”
“What’s the special occasion?”
