Howling For Love (Rock Star Alpha, #1)
eyes, he was surprised to find himself in a dark room. Everything came crashing down on him. He was here, in Mick’s penthouse suite. He’d just given up his virginity to the rock star Alpha it seemed. Smiling, Stefan flicked the lamp beside the bed. Flinging the sheets aside, he walked to the window. Stars and the night sky peered back at him.
Woah. He slept that long? Where was Mick?
Maybe Mick was out. Stefan didn’t mind looking around the apartment.
“Got to call Rory too,” he mumbled, looking for his phone but not seeing it anywhere. Ah, well. Maybe he could borrow Mick’s phone.
“Mick,” Stefan said his name dreamily.
Mick did as he promised, proved his words through his actions. Even now, Stefan couldn’t forget the way his body reacted to the Alpha. No one ever made him feel so whole, so completed and wanted. Professor Buckley kept pushing him to exercise and eat less, but Mick didn’t give a damn.
The answer was clear, wasn’t it?
Stefan knew werewolves took the mating business seriously. He saw himself living in this amazing apartment high above the skies, and welcoming Mick home with a home-cooked dinner. After that, they’d cuddle in the living room, watch movies or talk about their day. Of course, the night would end in bed, with Mick buried deep inside his ass, reminding Stefan who he belonged to.
He sighed. Was he thinking too far ahead? True, nothing in the world was ever easy. They’d need to overcome obstacles and learn to bridge their two different worlds together. Stefan felt like a character in his favorite gay novels. He was the nerd who got lucky. Something or someone would tear Mick and him apart. Once the middle was done, they’d end up together.
    “What am I thinking?”
Stefan rubbed at his eyes. He was still definitely stuck in dreamland. Enough about the far future, because he needed to figure out the present first.
The sounds came again, like a bunch of people talking at once. Padding to the door, Stefan hesitated opening it, and pressed his ears to the wood instead.
“So Mick, I brought your usual favorites,” said a gruff voice, someone Stefan didn’t recognize. It would be Steel or Korey, because Mick assured him they had the entire place to themselves.
“Rudy, I wish you’d fucking called ahead,” Mick answered, sounding grumpy.
“Look here, Mick. I’ve got the Adonis triplets, Stephanie and Betty for you.”
“That’s right, Mick. Did you forget what a wild ride we had the night before?” purred a female voice.
“Don’t just pick one or two, pick us all,” said a male voice.
Stefan froze like a statue as the awful realization hit him like a sledgehammer to his skull. Now he knew who these people were. They were probably Mick’s groupies, and by the sound of it, his favorites. Stefan balled his hands into fists.
“Stupid fool,” he whispered under his breath.
When Mick said he was his mate, that what they had was special...it had all been a lie. For crying out loud, Stefan had a Master’s degree. Any sensible person knew a pathetic, sad and chubby nerd didn’t stand a chance against a rock star Alpha. Here was Stefan, thinking about the future that could never be.
God. He was so pathetic it was beyond appalling. Imagining himself as Mick Badder’s live-in boyfriend, Mick’s mate...those were daydreams. Anger replaced his initial shock. Stefan refused to be further embarrassed. Scrambling for his clothes, Stefan cursed under his breath when he couldn’t find them.
He settled for borrowing Mick’s. To his chagrin, Stefan found himself sniffing at Mick’s shirt. It was a few sizes too big for him and so were the sweats, but they had to do. The voices outside began to argue. Stefan ceased trying to eavesdrop. What was the point?
Five people were fighting over Mick and it sounded like Mick had gone to plenty of orgies before. Stefan wouldn’t bother competing. Mick was a jerk. Period. The Alpha was no better than Buckley. Hell, he was
