exception.” There was no way he was letting this motherfucker work in his club.
     “And who are you?”
Bryan swung around with fists balled up at Darrell's insolent tone, but quickly got a grip. Exhaling, he twisted his neck once then twice until it popped to release the tension. He wasn’t gonna let this guy push his buttons any more than he already had.
“I’m Roni’s partner and part owner of this club - a club in which you won’t be working in so you can just see yourself out.”
Fuck! Marcus had warned him about his mouth and told him he needed to start thinking before he spoke, but the way this man jumped in his business had instantly ticked him off. He looked at Roni and wondered if there was something going on between the two of them.
“Bryan, can we please just calm down here?” Roni walked over and stood between the two men. “This is Darrell Monroe, and yes I hired him for Men of Fantasy. Darrell, this is my partner, Bryan Hargrove.” Her eyes held his. “And if you want to work here, you owe him an apology.”
Darrell looked at her for a moment before dropping his eyes. He knew she was right. Pride wasn’t going to put money in his pockets. Not only did he need this job, he wanted it. He wanted it more than he cared to admit.
Taking a step forward, he looked Bryan in the eye. “Mr. Hargrove, I’m sorry. I didn’t know who you were. I apologize for my behavior.” He held his hand out to Bryan. Bryan studied Darrell’s eyes and saw that the apology was sincere. He reluctantly shook Darrell’s hand and nodded.
     “Apology accepted.”
Roni let out a small sigh of relief when she saw Bryan’s face relax a little. If Bryan had still been opposed to hiring Darrell, then she would’ve sided with him no questions asked. She was glad Darrell had the maturity to admit when he was wrong. She turned her attention to Bryan when he continued talking.
“I’m going to give you another chance, but you need to take that chip off your shoulder. There’s only room for two people to have attitudes here, and Roni and I have that covered.”
Darrell’s face showed his uncertainty, not sure if Bryan was joking or not, but Roni saw the twinkle in his eye and hid her smile.
“Bryan, would you excuse us for a moment?”
Bryan stared long and hard at Roni. “You and I will talk.” It wasn’t a request. Roni nodded, knowing he was just being protective. He turned to Darrell. “Welcome to Club Ecstasy , Darrell. I’ll be seeing you soon.”
     “Thank you, sir.”
Giving them both a final probing look, Bryan left out the room and closed the door behind him. Once alone, the silence in the room was deafening and the sexual tension between them thick. Darrell took a step towards her. He’d been waiting for this all day.
Roni’s eyes widened when she saw him steadily approaching her. She’d made up her mind to have a talk with him and set the record straight, but for some reason she couldn’t think. Hell, she could barely breathe. What was wrong with her?! When he was only a step or two away, she shook her head and held a hand up to ward him off.
      “No….”
Darrell grabbed the hand and pulled her to him. “Yes.”
Roni opened her mouth to protest, but the tongue he slipped into her mouth pushed the words back down her throat. Her eyes closed as his mouth eagerly moved over hers. She half-heartedly pushed against his chest and strained away from him for a few minutes before giving in to what her body wanted and demanded.
     “Mmmm….mmmm…..”
Of their own violation, her hands slid up the chest she had been pushing away moments ago and encircled his neck as she pressed her body close to his. Her moan matched Darrell’s when she felt his large, palms slide over the soft curve of her hips and down to the round cheeks of her
