There was something like sadness in Flanâs eyes when she nodded and said that of course sheâd find a way to be there. I was worried there was going to be another fight, but then she kissed me,really softly at first. The cab was flying down Fifth, past my house and toward Perry Street. Everything felt really light and good, and the weekend had only just begun.
