but watch the play of muscles across his back and shoulders, nor
his tight, sexy ass. When she dragged her gaze back to his face as he turned to
Sherrie again, he gazed at her with a dark hunger she couldn’t deny.
Ty spun Diana away from him, out to the end of his reach,
then flicked his wrist to send her spinning in to stop with her back against
his chest. His strong hands slid down her arms, clasping her wrists to lift
them above his head. One of Diana’s hands reached back to loop around his neck
as Ty ran his finger down over the soft flesh of her inner bicep, continuing on
to graze her ribs with his palm.
Sherrie bit her lip on a groan, closing her eyes against the
image driving her crazy with a mixture of jealousy and lust. She heard Ty
mutter something and she opened her eyes to find him striding away from Diana
to grab his towel from the floor.
“Ty, what are you doing?” Diana’s voice broke the spell,
cutting through the heated atmosphere in the gym with its icy tone.
“I need a break,” he said with a shrug. Ty held the towel in
front of him casually bunched in his hands and walked towards Sherrie.
When he’d crossed enough of the floor so nobody but Sherrie
could see him, he flung the towel around his neck. Sherrie looked down…and
understood Ty’s sudden need for a time out. An erection strained the front of
his pants, clearly visible and outlined in excruciating detail in the shiny
black Lycra. The last of Sherrie’s breath left her lungs and she dragged her
gaze back up to his, only to be left reeling from the raw heat in his eyes.
“We need to talk…now.” Ty reached for her hand and pulled
her to her feet. He propelled them through the door and halfway down the
corridor before she thought to stop and ask him what he was doing.
Ty let go of her hand and pushed forward, using his chest to
back her against the wall. “You know, for a smart woman, you sure ask some damn
fool questions.”
One of his hands flattened against the wall next to her head
while the other grabbed her hip. She was trapped. With the hard concrete
pressing into her back and butt, along with Ty’s hard cock pressing into her
abdomen, she could do nothing but writhe under his heated gaze and wait for him
to make a move. Her eyelids grew heavy and she let them flutter down, until all
she could see through the veil of her lashes were Ty’s perfect lips descending
on hers. He paused, only millimeters away, and flicked out his tongue to graze
it along her parted lips. Sherrie sighed and opened a little wider for him. Ty
closed what tiny bit of space was left between them and kissed her roughly,
demanding her response. Her gasps and his groans mingled in the corridor.
“Well, well, well. How very professional of you both.”
Sherrie jumped at the sound of Diana’s voice and slid away
from Ty. He kept his back to Diana, his gaze still locked with Sherrie’s. “I
said I’m taking a break. Start working with the kids. I’ll be back later.”
    “When?”
“When I’m good and ready.” He reached for Sherrie’s hand and
walked away, dragging her with him whether she wanted to go or not.
As Sherrie gazed back, she caught a look of pure desolation
on Diana’s face and she realized in a blinding moment of clarity that she was
in love with Ty. No woman could fake the naked emotion Diana revealed in that
rare, unguarded moment. Suddenly, Sherrie understood the reason behind every
nasty barb and dirty look Diana threw at her. She was jealous. Against the odds,
and despite everything Diana had and Sherrie did not—beauty, grace and talent—all
Diana really wanted was Ty…and he wanted Sherrie.
He nudged open the door to the yard and pulled Sherrie out
into the bright afternoon sun. She stumbled a little and he slowed his pace,
grunting an apology at her, his face still rigid with whatever demons drove him
onwards.
“You’ve got to be careful how you handle Diana. You know
that, right? She’s not as tough as
