in the room. I wasn’t
about to make Kris sleep on the floor and there was no way he would let me so
that meant we’d be sleeping in the same bed together. As if I wasn’t nervous
enough, I’d realized that I didn’t have any pajamas so I’d have to sleep in my
bra and panties right next to him. I bit my lip and was trying to decide what
to do when I looked over at him. He had taken off his shirt and walked to me.
    “Here,
you can sleep in my shirt tonight,” he said, standing so close to me that I
could feel the heat of his skin. I took it with shaking hands before he moved
to the other side of the bed and unbuckled his pants.
    My
mouth went dry as I watched him slide out of his jeans until he was wearing nothing
but a snug pair of boxer briefs. Oh God he was beautiful. He pulled back the
blankets and climbed into the bed.
    Leaning
back on his pillow he asked, “Jess, are you getting in?”
    “Uh
yeah, let me just go get changed,” I answered and I ran off toward the bathroom
before he could say anything else.
    As
soon as I was inside, I shut the door and leaned against it. I held up his
shirt to my face and inhaled deeply. It smelled like his cologne mixed with a
little bit of sweat from jumping around at the concert…it was intoxicating. As
I breathed him in, I decided that I wasn’t going to be afraid. Kris had kissed
me and told me he had feelings for me. I had everything I wanted in the palm of
my hand; all I had to do was take it.
    A
surge of adrenaline rushed through me and I quickly changed out of my clothes
and into his shirt. I decided then and there that I was going to go after what
I wanted and not be afraid. Whatever happened after I left this bathroom I
would welcome it.

Chapter 3

    Kris

    I
rested my head against the headboard and mentally wanted to kick myself. This
night hadn’t gone at all how I’d planned. After what happened in Jessie’s room
last week I’d been constantly thinking about her to the point of distraction.
Just the mere mention of her name had me feeling aroused and I’d found myself
shifting around to hide my almost instantaneous erection. I was freaked out by
all these new feelings that I didn’t know how I was going to handle being
around her without making an ass of myself, so I’d purposely stayed away from
her while I tried to work it all out.
    I
know she had to have been hurt when I didn’t call this morning. I felt like an
asshole but I didn’t know what to say. Happy birthday didn’t seem good
enough and I sure as shit couldn’t say what I really wanted to… Happy
birthday, Jess. I think I might be falling for you and you’re finally eighteen
and legal and the only thing I can think about is kissing your lips and holding
you close and stripping your sexy little body and…
    My
wandering thoughts were interrupted when she stepped out of the bathroom. If I
had been unsure of my feelings before I was damn sure of them now…she completely
stole my breath.
    She
stood at the bathroom door wearing my tee shirt and waited for just a moment
before shutting off the light. I felt all the blood rushing to my dick and I
sat up out of instinct. The light was shining just right on her and it made her
look like she was glowing. Her soft brown hair looked almost golden and her
skin looked so creamy and beautiful. She was a goddess.
    When
her eyes found mine, heat seared through my chest and spread all through me and
suddenly my entire body was awake. How in the hell had I been around her almost
every day for thirteen years and not noticed how fucking breathtaking she was?
    She
flicked off the light and padded across the carpet slowly. She seemed nervous
as she slid under the blankets and took her place beside me. As I turned off
the lamp that was on the table at my bedside, I lie down and turned on my side
to face her.
    “So,
did you really have fun tonight?” I asked, trying my hardest not to touch her.
She was so close and she smelled like
