I'm in Love With a Stripper
flowed through Royce’s veins.
“ You are saying that this all happened because of me?” he replied angrily.
“ Royce...” Alena replied putting her hand on his arm.
    Royce pulled away.
“ THAT MOTHER FUCKER!” he yelled.
“ Royce, please calm down. You’re going to wake Gavin,” Alena replied shakily.
    “ CALM DOWN?” Royce exclaimed.
“ Alena, he has gone too far this time!” he continued.
Royce sighed and sat back down, “Damnit! He’s really crossed the line this time! I really fucking hate that piece of shit.”
“ Royce, I’m OK now and I’m here with you that’s all that matters,” Alena replied.
“ No, Alena! No— that jackass! I can’t believe he brought me into it!” he replied heatedly.
“ Royce, I’m sorry,” Alena replied.
“ I’m really sorry,” she added.
“ Alena, you have nothing to be sorry for,” Royce replied.
“ I wish I just would have told you how I felt sooner,” he paused. “Then maybe none of that would have had to happen,” he finished.
“ Royce, how do you feel?” Alena asked softly.
Royce took Alena by the hand, “I want to give you a better life here with me.”
Royce took a deep breath in and exhaled, “Will you promise to stay here with me, Alena?”
Alena nodded, “Royce, of course. You make me very happy.”
They both became quiet for a minute.
    Royce grinned.
“ Let’s go to sleep. We can talk more about this in the morning,” he said.
H e gave Alena a kiss on the top of her head before turning out the lamp on the nightstand.
The next day Alena awoke to a horrible, burning smell. She put on her robe and went to the kitchen where she found Royce cursing at the toaster and Gavin giggling.
    “ Royce!” Alena exclaimed.
“ Gah! Alena this damn thing is pissing me off!” Royce replied.
    Alena giggled.
“ Royce, here sit down and let me do it,” Alena said.
    “ Feh,” he muttered.
“ Royce, the only thing you know how to make is ramen!” Gavin giggled.
    “ What?!” Royce exclaimed.
“ And one time you even burnt that!” Gavin replied.
“ You little brat!” Royce exclaimed.
“ Alena! I almost starved before you came here!” Gavin teased.
Alena giggled as Gavin continued and Royce became more annoyed.
“ Yeah, well maybe Uncle Hubert will starve you,” Royce retorted.
Gavin began to talk excitedly about Uncle Hubert’s house and karate lessons.
    The three ate.
“Here,” Royce said shoving his credit card in Alena’s hand, “Go buy everything you need to get settled in here.”
    “ Royce…” Alena started.
“ Feh, go and buy whatever you want I don’t care. Go to the mall or whatever girls do. Oh and go get something nice to wear I’m taking you to dinner tonight, remember?” Royce mumbled as he shoved some toast in his mouth.
“ What about Gavin?” Alena asked.
“ Already asked Uncle Hubert to watch him. He’ll be here after lunch,” Royce smirked.
“Great! Gavin loves Hubert, ” Alena replied.
“Yeah , I’ll make it worth his while. I think the old man enjoys the company too. I’m sure he gets lonely, especially since he has me for a nephew. I need to start inviting him over for dinner more often,” Royce replied thoughtfully.
    Alena smiled.
“Anyway, I’m taking you to dinner tonight and I’m also going to get some wine in you. It has been way too serious for way too long. Let’s go have some fun,” Royce grinned.
“I’m excited. I thin k it’ll be exactly what we need,” Alena replied cheerfully.
Royce finished up his breakfast. He gave Alena a quick kiss and then headed off to work.
Alena spent the morning with Gavin. The two colored and played legos on the floor for awhile.
    Alena glanced at the clock.
“Oh! Uncle Hubert will be here for you soon. Let’s get you packed,” she announced.
Gavin ran to his room with Alena following behind him.
“I gotta get my boots! Uncle Hubert said we were going to the duck pond! He said we were gonna do boy stuff too!”
