have been turned off my Katya but Stepan thought her to be a stunning, beautiful woman. Everything about her excited him. Her voice was melodic, her body worthy of being worshipped. But she could never be his, not when she was promised to his brother.
“I wonder what the pakhan would think of Sergei’s American girlfriend,” Stepan grumbled. He knew his father would likely be angry at the idea of Sergei taking an interest in another woman while he did everything he could to merge two powerful families together. He wanted to win his father’s favor but had to make sure he considered every possible option before speaking with his father. Trying to worm his way into the pakhan’s favor could backfire and he had to be careful. Rivalry within the family wasn’t unheard of but it often resulted in someone’s death, and he damn sure didn’t want that.
“I’ll have to think on this,” Stepan mumbled to himself. There was no room for error. It would probably be best to watch Sergei and his American girl to see what happened between them, and he could use that time to get to know Katya, too.

Chapter Seven

Sergei strode into the hotel lobby, dressed in denim jeans and a black Henley shirt that stretched taut over his broad shoulders.  The ladies at the front desk smiled wantonly as he made his way to the elevator, their eyes following his every move. The elevator doors slid open and he stepped inside, pressing the button for Dani’s floor.
A ding sounded and the doors eased open. Sergei slowly stepped into the hallway, taking time to cast a glance down each end of the hall. It was an old habit but it served him well. Taking long strides, eager to see Dani again, he knocked on her door. He felt an extreme attraction to her. There was something about her that made him want to be a better man, to be an honest man. She was such a sweet woman and he could sense the innocence in her. He could tell she was holding something back, just as he was. It was none of his business but he couldn’t help wondering what it was. What could such an innocent have in her past that had to be hidden?
    “Who is it?” Zoe questioned.
    “It’s Sergei.”
“Just a minute.” The locks clicked and the door swung open. Zoe smiled at him. “Come on in. We’re almost ready to head out sightseeing.”
Dani stepped out of the bathroom and froze, taking in the sight of him. He was dressed casually today and still looked like sex on a stick. His denim jeans were fitted to his muscular thighs and she gasped as her eyes found the bulge of his cock pressing hungrily against his jeans. His dark brown hair was messy in the sexiest way, like he had just climbed out of bed. He was a wet dream oozing sex appeal. “Umm. Hi Sergei,” she said unable to tear her gaze from his. “Thanks again for offering to take us sightseeing. What have you got planned for us?”
“Hello, Milaya moya. You look beautiful.” His eyes greedily worked over her body. She shivered wanting more than his eyes to touch her. She’d do anything to get him out of those tight-ass jeans for a few hours.
“You guys get a freaking room already,” Zoe said, shaking her head. “If you’re going to give each other bedroom eyes all day, I’ll hit the road alone.” She looked from Sergei to Dani. “So are we going to see the sights are what?” Sergei laughed a deep hearty laugh, obviously enjoying Zoe’s personality. Dani grabbed her purse and headed for the door where Sergei waited.
They stopped for breakfast at a small café, not far from the hotel. Dani saw the way people seemed to immediately notice Sergei’s presence and either offered to assist him with anything he needed help with or got out of his way like he was Moses or something. What that was all about? Maybe he or his family were important in St. Petersburg. He was so kind to
