alarm, but was grateful someone did. Annie hated people to be late to dinner. She went into the bathroom and saw the wet towels and vaguely remembered the twins bathing her and then putting her to bed. She lay back and replayed the afternoon in her mind. It was the most sexually satisfying afternoon of her life ever. She doubted it could ever be topped and wasn’t sure she should try. She had to start thinking about work, and those two would just be a distraction. And eventually they’d tire of her, and she’d be heartbroken again. Better to cut things off now before she got in even deeper than she was.
She brushed out her hair as there was no time to wash it, and then she tied it back, hanging in a long braid down her back. And she dressed with particular care, choosing a black sequined tank and tight black pants. The tank ended just above her navel and the pants started just below her navel, leaving a couple of inches of toned stomach exposed and highlighting her cleavage. She’d made them sweat. But she also knew they wouldn’t make a move with their sister and the kids in the same room. She’d torture them while they could look but not touch. She placed a black leather choker around her neck and long silver earrings in her ears.
Right at seven she made her way down the apartment steps, just as the twins were driving up, again in Markus’s truck. She watched them exit, looking ridiculously handsome in dark suits and ties. She could see them watch her descent and smiled as they each took an arm as they escorted her into the house.
As they paused at the door way, Markus whispered in her ear, “We did rock-paper-scissors, and I won. When we get a chance we’ll slip out for five minutes and I’ll shove the first butt plug up your ass.” Before she could answer, he left her side to hug his sister while a grinning Jackson steered Cassie into the house.
Before he left her side he whispered that since Markus got to fill her ass with the butt plug, he, Jackson, would get to fuck her first while it was inside her. And then the grinning, wicked man walked away and left her standing there.
Those men were outrageous, really. Whatever did she ever see in them? She brooded, sulked even, until Annie came over to her.
“Well, Cassie, even with that brooding, I’m-going-to-knee-you-in-the-balls scowl on your face, you are glowing and more relaxed than you have been in a while.
“So tell me, which of my brothers put that look on your face.” Cassie colored, not sure how to answer the question. “You dog, you had both of them, didn’t you? Lucky they are my brothers. If I was a single woman in town, I’d be hating on you right about now. And as much as if you were seeing anyone else, I just can’t ask for details when it comes to my brothers. I just have to ask you one thing. Please don’t break their hearts. If you aren’t serious, if you don’t see this working out long-term, then just end it now.”
“Annie, I’m the one whose heart is at risk. I’ve loved the twins since I was fourteen and even threw myself at them at eighteen, and they rejected me. I’ve barely seen them in the seven years since. And now they claim I’m theirs?”
“Cassie, you have to talk to them. Make them tell you why they did what they did seven years ago. I think you may be surprised by their answer.”
“What could they possible say to make up for the way they rejected me? They can’t just come waltzing back into my life and expect to be welcomed back with open arms. I can’t go through that kind of heartache again. I won’t, Annie.”
The two friends hugged. “Just promise me you’ll talk to them.” She looked like she wanted to say more, but Steve called that it was time to put Andrew to bed. Cassie went up with her and took a turn reading the story. When Annie went back downstairs, Cassie lingered at the door, watching the little boy sleep. Would she ever have a little boy of her own?
    She turned to head downstairs
