kill me. My plan last night to gain his trust completely backfired. I would have to work even harder to make him believe that I wanted him. "I'm sorry about last night, David," I said softly. He paused, then continued rubbing. He said nothing. I sighed. "Do you know why I was running away the other night?"
"Mm hmm," he mumbled. "Fuckface cheated on you."
I almost laughed at his name for Alex. "Yeah. He was cheating on me. With my best friend. I caught them in bed together." He paused again.
    "Shit. That's fucked up."
I nodded. "Yeah. He did it because I wouldn't put out. I wouldn't give him what he wanted, so he hooked up with my best friend. I lost my boyfriend and my best friend in the same night." I rolled over to my side and faced him. "David, I don't want Alex. I can't even think of him without feeling hurt or betrayed. He's the only guy I've ever even kissed, besides you. That's why I said his name. Not because I want him. Because I can't stop thinking about how he could do this to me." David smiled sympathetically at me.
    Thank God.
    "I'm sorry sweetie."
"It's ok. I'll get over it."
"You want me to fail him?" David asked teasingly.
    I laughed. "Yeah, kind of."
"Well he's probably going to fail anyway. The kid is an idiot. He would have to be to cheat on someone as sexy as you."
    "Thanks," I said awkwardly.
We sat in silence for a minute.
"Can I ask you a question?" I asked.
    "Shoot."
I cleared my throat. "Why me?"
    "Why you what?"
"Why did you pick me? Is it just because I happened to be on the side of the road that night?" It was the question that I was dying to know.
He laughed. "No, I wouldn't get that lucky. I was waiting for you. I saw you walking to the party." My heart skipped a beat when I realized that he had been stalking me without my even knowing it. "I wanted to take you then, but I figured that you'd be easier to grab when you were drunk." The casual way he talked about his plans to abduct me terrified me. "I wasn't expecting you to come out so early or be so upset. That was an added bonus."
He grabbed my hands and stared into my eyes. "I knew I wanted you since the day you walked into my class. You are so beautiful, but act like you don't even know it. Your eyes and lips are mesmerizing. And your body is perfect. You're smart too. You have a maturity beyond your years. I've never met anybody quite like you, Jadia. You're just...perfect."
I swallowed hard. "Thanks, David," I muttered. For the first time, I wished that I was still fat and invisible.

David was away for most of the day. I showered, trying to avoid the welts caused by David's belt. I spent most of the day laying on the bed thinking. It seemed that my only chance of escape was to get the key from David while he was sleeping, but it was too risky to try that now. I didn't want to think about what would happen if he caught me. David came into the room with a bag. "I got you a present!" He announced proudly. He pulled out all of the toiletries I had asked for, except for the razor.
"David, I kind of want to shave my legs and my bikini area. Didn't you get me a razor?" He shook his head. "I have a better idea. When you want to shave, tell me and I'll shave you."
    Another means of escape gone.
"Ok, I guess. You don't think that'd be weird?" His eyes widened and he shook his head. "God no. It'll be so hot. Speaking of hot, you look unbelievable. "My "outfit" today was a red lacy thong with a matching bra that had slits where my nipples were. I imagined his glee when he picked out all of these stripper costumes. What a freak.
David moved closer to me and ran his hands up my legs. "Yeah, you need to shave. Wait here." He ran out of the room before I could protest, leaving the door open. My heart pounded. This was my chance. Wasting no time, I crept out of the room. I walked quietly down the hall and into the kitchen.
    "What are you doing?"
I turned to see David glaring at me. "I was hungry," I quickly replied.
    "Well, don't
