scent of the owl in the tree as I leapt over the fallen branch just below its perch.
I heard Wyatt close behind me, not even trying to be quiet as he closed the distance between us. I laughed, spurring myself on faster as I tried to prolong the chase. I couldn’t remember having had so much fun as I ran under the light of the moon. I felt my breath leave my chest in a whoosh as Wyatt’s heavy body landed on top of mine. I tried to wriggle out from beneath him, brown wolf trapped by blond, but he bit down on my scruff, subduing me. I froze beneath him, lowering onto my haunches until I felt him growl warningly and release me, then I shot up and rolled us over until he was pinned beneath me. I yipped at him, biting the tip of his ear playfully as a growl rumbled deep in his powerful chest.
I felt myself shifting back as he suddenly bucked up and flipped me onto my back. His soft fur became sleek, taut skin as he pinned my arms above me, and blanketed my body with his heat. I moaned as his bare, hard cock rubbed against mine.
“Submit to me, little wolf,” he growled. His voice was still between beast and human, the rough coarseness of it sending spikes of heat down to my aching cock.
I arched up into him and raised my head to snap my teeth playfully at him. “Make me,” I taunted as I wriggled in his hold. I wasn’t going to make this easy for him.
“Oh it’s going to be my pleasure to,” he grinned, and then I was too hard to care how easy I was as he kissed me.

    CHAPTER EIGHT

    Wyatt

“You need to eat more, you’re eating for six now,” I said as I pushed more meat onto his plate.
My little wolf grimaced and gave me a look of disbelief. “No way am I having five pups,” he said but he picked up his fork and continued to work on the extra food I’d piled onto his plate. He was two months along now and looked more like he was seven. He was due to give birth in three months and I couldn’t wait for it to get here fast enough. Everyday a new worry piled onto the mountain I already had of them. I’d known the risks when I’d made the decision to breed, every wolf did, but as I watched Seth swell with our pups I wondered if I’d really thought this through. Oh, there was no fucking way I would have let him get rid of the pregnancy, but I could have prepared more, ensured I had a contingency plan for any and everything that happened.
I’d never been such a worrier until I had a mate as big as my pile of fears.
“You heard what Seamus said, he heard five heartbeats,” I reminded him as I reached forward and wiped the spot of sauce at the corner of his mouth. Automatically I brought it up to my mouth and licked it clean.
“That—uh, he—” Seth swallowed as heat bloomed in his cheeks and I watched as his eyes darkened into a gunmetal gray as they followed my movement. I sent him a heated smile and his cheeks went even redder. Beneath the table my cock was rock hard and pressing against my fly. I gave it a squeeze hoping to ease the ache. Once we were done with dinner I’d take him to bed, lick every inch of him, and make him say my name until he was begging me to let him come.
“You were saying?” I asked. I didn’t even try to conceal my amusement at his flustered, glazed expression.
He cleared his throat and narrowed his eyes at me. “I was saying that Seamus was wrong. He has to be. Because no way am I giving birth to five pups. I’m not going to fit through the door at the end of five months as it is. If I’m having five pups then I’m going to get even bigger and that’s not happening,” he said stubbornly as he stabbed at a grilled tomato.
I chuckled. “I’m not seeing any problem with that. That way I can keep you in bed and you won’t be able to escape like you keep doing.”
“If I didn’t escape we’d never leave the bedroom! And besides, if I get any bigger you’ll be the one wanting to escape the bedroom.” His forehead was puckered and the soft,
