The General’s Wife: An American Revolutionary Tale
Hawkins. What can I do for you?”
Lieutenant Hawkins surveyed the room casually, as if he had witnessed such lurid scenes before. “A dispatch, sir. From Colonel Woods. About your wife.” He said this last with just a touch of derision.
“Thank you, lieutenant. I will see you in my office presently.” The general turned to Annabella. “You will like Colonel and Mrs. Woods, my dear, when you reside with them in Manhattan. The colonel is much like myself.”
Annabella sensed the lieutenant’s gaze from across the room. He knew who she was, would know her mistress would be utterly appalled by such abuse, and might be able to help Redmond. She turned to him with a pleading expression. He merely pursed his lips and walked away.

That night, Redmond crammed his few belongings in a knapsack, vowing to avenge his assault and Annabella’s rape. He desperately hoped her too-easy submission had been an act of appeasement, but could not erase her expression of utter abandon under General Strathmore’s touch. She needed to learn who her true lord and master was.
He braced himself against the biting midnight air and slunk away into the surrounding woods.

Chapter Four
Captain Samuel Taylor woke to a familiar arm draped across his hip, a warm hand wrapped around his morning erection. Nestled against him was the soft, plump form of Prudence, the whore he had enjoyed the night before. He turned to the sleeping man on his other side. First Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton had his own whore sprawled over his nude body and yet somehow had managed to free up his hand to grab Sam’s prick.
“Let me go, Pat,” Sam whispered softly in his junior officer’s ear. “Or there’ll be the devil to pay. Besides, I have to pee.” Not getting a reaction, he extracted himself from the mass of bodies on the bed and went to the chamber pot to piss a healthy stream.
Prudence squirmed sleepily and rolled onto her stomach. He smiled at her as he fumbled for his clothes among the various garments strewn about the room.
“You not coming back to bed, love?” she asked.
Sam held a shirt against his chest and decided it was his.
“You get a morning fuck for your money.”
He tossed the shirt aside and jumped on the bed. “Then what are we waiting for?”
She squealed as he tugged her on top to knead her abundant breasts.
The mattress bounced under their enthusiastic tumbling, eliciting an annoyed grunt from Pat. “Christ, Sam,” he said, pushing Sam with his feet. “You’ll wake Chastity.”
“Chas needs to get up anyway for your morning fuck, lieutenant,” remarked Prudence.
“Isn’t that always extra?” Pat yawned.
“Mr. Bridgers likes the two of you patriot boys. You get it for free.” Prudence threaded her fingers through Sam’s chest hair, then licked a nipple. He encouraged her with a sigh. She knew how to rouse a man first thing in the morning.
Chastity finally stirred from her slumber. “Ugh, I feel awful,” she whined, grabbing her belly and curling up, revealing a spot of blood on the sheets.
“Chas! You started your courses!” Prudence waved at the red stain.
Chastity groaned, then turned over to kiss Pat. “Sorry, love. You’ll have to settle for a suck.” She drew a finger across the stubble of his face. “At least we know you’re not a father this month.”
Pat nipped at Chastity’s finger. “You’re not supposed to know about that.”
“Connie and I don’t keep secrets, lieutenant.” She tugged on his earlobe with her teeth. “We’re like sisters. She said you would have married her but for the war.”
“And Mr. Bridgers doesn’t want children in his whorehouse,” added Prudence.
Sam glanced sidelong at Pat. That the incident still stung was reflected in the twinge of regret that flickered across Pat’s face. After the pregnancy had been ended they never spoke of it again.
“We have to leave soon anyway, girls.” Sam twisted his fingers through Prudence’s blond locks.
