said. “Are you in or you out? Will you help me with something very important? You’ll make ten grand in one hour, if that helps to sway your decision. If not, then I’ll give you a ride to your car right now and you can forget all this happened. I don’t want cause you any more distress, but if you’re going to be with me, you have to understand that this is how I live.”
I looked into his beautiful blue eyes and smiled. Then without any further thought, I whispered, “Okay. I’ll help you.”
To this day, I have no idea why I said those words. But one thing was for sure. My life was about to take a drastic turn....

Chapter 9
    ––––––––
    “H ey, wake up...”
I felt a hand touch my shoulder and gently rock me back and forth, pulling me out of my sleep.
“We have to get up now, sleepy head,” Tommy whispered.
I slowly opened my eyes and sat up, still naked underneath the blanket. I looked over at Tommy and watched as he slipped on his leather pants and vest.
Oh, God. It wasn’t just a dream.
Nothing about the night before had felt real and a part of me was expecting to wake up back home in Utah in my mom’s guest bed. But as I looked over Tommy and his tattoo-covered torso, it quickly became clear that everything that had happened the night before was not in my imagination.
“Well, good morning, beautiful,” Tommy said, as soon as he noticed that my eyes were open.
Then he crawled back on the bed and gave me a quick kiss on the lips. I smiled at him and then brought my hand to the side of his head, running my fingers through his thick, brown hair.
“I thought last night was just some crazy dream,” I said.
Tommy stood back up and put on his silver necklace, which held a medallion with an engraved skull on it. Then he began sliding his silver rings on each of his fingers as he spoke.
“I’ll admit, I kind of thought it was some crazy dream also,” he said. “The moment I saw you in the bar, I thought that there was no way that you were real. You’re the most beautiful girl that I’ve ever seen in this town.”
I sat up on the edge of the bed and stretched.
“You’re too sweet,” I said, with a playful smirk on my face.
Tommy finished putting on his rings and then sat on the edge of the bed next to me.
“We have a big day ahead of us,” he said. “And I hope you’re ready for it.”
It took me a second to realize what he was talking about, but the moment that I did, I felt a flash of anxiety shoot through me. The night before, I had agreed to do a favor for him. The details of the favor were vague, but I was sure that it involved something illegal. Otherwise, I didn’t see why Tommy didn’t just do it himself.
Tommy must have noticed my immediate look of concern. He placed his hand on my lower back and pulled me closer to him. His touch felt strong, but safe, instantly making me feel more at ease.
“You’re still willing to do it, right?” he asked. “Because I can’t do this without you.”
Fuck, what was I thinking agreeing to that? I don’t even really know this guy...
I looked over to Tommy and he stared back at me with his beautiful, blue eyes. He was so gorgeous, which only made it infinitely harder to resist him.
“You never gave me any details about the favor,” I said.
Tommy nodded his head in agreement.
“I need to know for sure that you’re on board before I tell you any details,” he said.
I don’t even know you, Tommy...
As I sat on the bed, looking him over, my thoughts quickly flashed back to my home in Utah, where my boyfriend, Justin, was probably eagerly awaiting my return. But when I thought about him and the fact that he didn’t want to live with me because, “it would look bad in the eyes of the church,” I immediately felt better about where I was in that moment, with Tommy. The thought of Justin also helped to sway my decision in helping Tommy with the favor that he had been talking about.
    “Okay,” I said,
