microwave and pull out a bottle of beer. After setting the table for him I set a place for myself just so he doesn’t have to eat alone. Our time together has been pretty limited over the past few months, but we still make up for it with the time we do have to spend together.
I hear the garage door open and suddenly feel a bit giddy. Derrick still has a way of making me act like a love sick school girl when he’s near me. I don’t think I’ll ever lose that feeling. He really is the best guy and I’m lucky as hell that he’s stuck by me for the past few years.
Derrick comes in the house and tosses his briefcase on the living room chair. I watch as he walks around the room inching toward the kitchen. He looks absolutely gorgeous wearing a button down blue dress shirt that fits his toned body perfectly and a nice pair of khaki pants. As he approaches the kitchen he runs his hand through his perfectly styled hair and catches me staring at him. The color of the shirt makes his baby blue eyes stand out like crazy. He comes closer to me with a big smile on his face.
“There’s my Angel. How was your day Chloe?” He asks pulling me into his embrace.
He smells like clean laundry, a mixture of his scented cologne and body wash. Mmm I love the way he smells.
“Hey love, my day was boring. But now you’re here so it’s much better.” I say with a smile and a kiss to his lips.
“Yeah, I agree the day just got a hundred times better when I pulled into the driveway and saw you were home.”
Derrick returns my kiss and walks us back up against the fridge while running his hands up and down my back finally grabbing onto my ass.
“Yes much better indeed.” He says with a smirk.
I kiss him again on the lips and then move over to the microwave that is now beeping.
“I heated dinner for you. Why don’t you take a seat in the dining room and I’ll bring everything in for you? Do you have a lot of work to do tonight?”
“Thanks Chloe. No actually I didn’t have any work to bring home tonight. I was hoping to just spend the night with you.”
I bring out his plate of food and the bottle of beer setting it down in front of him. He grabs onto my hips and positions me into his lap. He moves my hair to the side so that he has better access to my neck and begins to pepper kisses at my collar bone, along my jaw and turning my face he kisses my lips.
“How about I skip dinner and we head to the bedroom for some dessert?” I giggle in his neck and twitch in his lap. I can feel he’s more than ready to move onto the dessert course of the evening, but this poor guy has to eat dinner too.
“As much as I want to get to bed with you, I still want you to eat your dinner. Then we can get to dessert. Deal?” I ask kissing the tip of his nose.
“Yes!” He shouts and shoves me off his lap.
I laugh at the crazy that is Derrick as he shovels forkfuls of noodles into his mouth. I really do love this man. I continue to watch him plow through his dinner and sit next to him sipping my wine.
Today has been a long and stressful day. Not like the last two years haven’t, but today especially has been one of those days.
I can’t help but feel a little nervous to get home tonight. Never in the time we’ve been together have I kept something from Chloe, but this…this I have to try my best to keep a secret, at least for another few months. Once law school is over I’ll do it. I’ll be able to tell her everything.
The knot in my stomach is growing the closer I get to the house. Ugh, our house. Yes the house we just bought together. This is the place I envision spending the rest of my life with Chloe and where we will start building a family. I met with someone today and the choice I made will change things forever. It will change where Chloe and I stand and where we’ve been for the past few years
I’m only a few minutes from home and I know I need to pull my shit together. The past two years have been hard on both of us
