by the back exit up ahead. It leads to where I parked.”
    “Dano, hold up.”
He stopped at the sound of his name and turned, while Angie only stopped. She knew who it was without looking.
Dan filled the silence as T walked down the long, dimly lit hallway toward them. “Good to see you back, T.”
“I’m glad to be back. It was an exhausting few months. I didn’t expect to be gone so long. My last skip was more adept at getting lost than I expected, but I love a challenge.”
Angie stood stiffly by, her gaze on the floor. Would she ever be able to look at him again and not see him half naked, a thin sheen of sweat over his cut chest and abs that rippled hypnotically as he slammed repeatedly into the lucky recipient of his more than generous cock.
She stopped her moment of self-flagellation right there. It accomplished nothing.
As she stood awkwardly by, trying to maintain her composure, Angie prayed he wouldn’t talk to her. Hoping he needed something from Dan instead and was the reason why he’d pursued them.
“I wanted to check on Angie.” Dammit! No such luck. “The last time I saw her, she wasn’t feeling so hot.”
Feeling both men’s attention, she answered, reluctantly. Although she didn’t quite meet T’s gaze, focusing on his firm chin instead.
“I’m good. I was released back to work a few weeks ago.”
“She works for Rossi now, T. Did you hear?”
    “Yeah, I found out today.”
Another silence. Dan shifted this time. “You know, I left my keys in security. If you’re good here with T, Ang, I’ll run up and grab them. I’ll pick up your shoes on my way back.” To T, he asked, “You got a few minutes to watch her for me, man?”
    “I don’t need a keeper, Dan.”
“You do at Club Decadence, babe. You’re uncollared, which means you’re fair game for any greedy Dom.”
Babe? Where had that come from? Having never heard it from him before, she threw him a quizzical glance, but he was watching T, awaiting his response.
T’s voice was low, as he replied. “You go on. I’ll stick with her.”
With a nod, Dan squeezed her shoulder. “Be back in a few.”
She wanted to beg him not to leave her with him, but wouldn’t that look just grand? A female operative at Rossi, supposedly tough and capable, begging her trainer to hold her hand. As she watched him stride quickly down the long hall, disappearing behind a door at the end, she fervently hoped he wouldn’t be gone long.
“Why did you quit the force? I heard they made a clean sweep and brought in new administration.”
“The whole Stapleton fiasco left a bad taste in my mouth.”
“I get it. A dirty cop is bad, but when it’s the chief and his minions infiltrate the entire force—” His voice trailed off. She knew where he was headed all the same. The SAPD had been seriously fucked over by Stapleton. “Cap was pleased you hired on, I’m sure. He’s been interested in adding a female operative for some time.”
“Yeah, he told me that too.” She studied the pattern in the floor tile, looking anywhere other than at him.
“I was surprised to see you here. How long have you and Ogilvie been seeing each other?”
“Um…” Of course he would think that, only Cap, Dex, Eric in LA, she and Dan knew what was going on. Cap had insisted they keep it under wraps since many of the San Antonio members interacted with those in LA, some had memberships at both clubs. Feeling decidedly uncomfortable, her eyes darted away.
“We’ve been together a few weeks. He’s my trainer at Rossi.”
“Is mixing business with pleasure a good idea?”
She stiffened at his disapproving tone, While gearing up to give him what for and explain that her personal life was none of his business, he cleared his throat and began to backtrack his comment, clearly regretting the way it had sounded. “Angie, I didn’t mean to—”
Not wanting to go there with him, she interrupted. “I never got a chance to thank you for what you did
