lost that arm. You’re mine, Ana. There’s nothing that I wouldn’t do to keep you.”
“Same here, cowboy. Now can you get out so I can get ready?” she asked with an arched brow and a wicked smile.
“Pity, I was hoping to watch,” I teased.
“Oh really?” She grabbed the covers and tossed them back before standing in front of the bed. Bending, she grabbed the hem of her long shirt and started to lift it over her head.
“Oh, shit. I was only kidding,” I said, running toward the door and out of the room. Ana stood there laughing hard. I guess she thought that shit was funny, but it wasn’t. My dick was so stiff I nearly sawed my jeans in half at the middle. I scurried down the stairs just in time to see Laura laughing at me.
“Oh, I can’t wait until the grandbabies come.”
“Well, I’ll be doing my best,” I said seriously before cracking a smirk. Fucking my babies into her was a must. Marking her as mine had been something I thought about since the first time she called me husband. That shit set my blood on fire. Lust coursed through me in her darkest hour. I knew then that there wouldn’t be a moment when I didn’t love her or hunger for her.
“Do your best at what you slick motherfucker?”
“Shane! What are you doing here?”
“I told you’d I’d be back after I took care of a couple things. So who is the woman I’ve heard about? Whoever she is, lock that shit down. You need happiness.”
“What the fuck’s got you so fucking thrilled?” I asked my brother who left the same day as all that shit went down.
“I’ll tell you about it later. So where is she? Where’s the woman that brought you back to life?”
“She’s getting dressed in our bedroom. We’re going to have the cast removed today.”
“I see. So how’s the noise around here?” he asked. My father kept him alight of the shit going down with Ana and me.
“Actually, it’s been quiet. The people looking for her have slowed down,” I said gratefully.
“Good, so when she’s done getting ready, bring her down to introduce me. In the meantime, I’ll be raiding your kitchen. I’m freaking starving,” he said.
“Sure thing,” I replied with a nod. We were fucking tall as hell and had an appetite that could rival wild beasts.
“I’ve got to find where Laura ran off to.” He left to eat whatever we had in the house.
Irrationally, I was completely jealous of him being here. I had mentioned to Ana that I had a brother, but it was when she first started to wake up, and I wasn’t sure if I had mentioned him again. Not that Shane and I weren’t close, but I didn’t want her to fall for him. Shane had all the charisma and charm, and I had all the extras. My brother was a pimp with the ladies. I knew that when he said he would ride out the celibacy with me, it wouldn’t last long, so I tried not to get jealous over the life I would never have. Now that I had that future in my grasp, I didn’t want to lose her to my brother.
“I’m ready,” Ana said walking up to me, shaking me out of my thoughts.
“Great. Let’s get on with it.”
I saw the scared look in her eyes, and it bothered me. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to sound annoyed. I’m a little grumpy. I didn’t mean to take it out on you.”
“No, he’s annoyed that I’m here.” I closed my eyes as my brother stepped into the room. Ana’s gaze met his and came back to mine. Her mouth opened wide, and I nearly barked at my brother to leave.
“I thought you were in the kitchen.”
“There are two of you?” Ana asked curiously. A little too curiously for my tastes.
“You’re the lovely Ana. I’m his brother Shane. I see my brother neglected to mention we were twins,” he said, grabbing her hand and giving it a gentle squeeze.
“That’s enough, Shane. Let go of my woman’s hand.”
“William. Why are you acting like that?” The hurt in her eyes reminded me that she told me how irrationally out of control Santini was with
