into line when it came to Jasper.
Club Zombie was set on the backside of the property. Patrons came right off the interstate. The residents reached the club through a maze of underground and above ground walkways. Visitors were never permitted into the residential part of the estate, and many locks ensured the residents’ privacy. According to Jasper, it was the only rule Lafayette and Beau were firm on.
They entered the club through an underground side door, which Kai was sure he would never find again. It was early, but the crowd was starting to build. The club was the size of a large warehouse. The main room was decorated in lush jewel-toned fabrics that made Kai think of India or a desert palace. Low couches and chairs were scattered along the wall in intimate seating areas. Circular booths in dark woods with shimmering curtains gave maximum privacy to tables and the padded benches.
Jasper led him up to a bar. “What do you want to drink?”
“A white Russian.” Kai looked up to admire the multitude of scarves that dripped from the ceiling.
Giving him a crooked smile, Jasper laughed a little. “Hey, Corey. Could we have sparkling water?”
“Course, Jaz.” Corey batted his eyelashes at Jasper, but continued to stand there and stare.
“Why did you order a water?” Kai whined. He could really use a drink, especially as he tried to ignore the pretty man who kept staring at him and Jasper.
“This isn’t Germany. You have two more years here before you’re of legal drinking age.” Jasper nodded to the man who just popped around the bar. “Hey, Jackson.”
Jackson smiled at Jasper and waltzed over to slap Corey on the ass to get him moving. “Flirting again?”
“Mmmmm, if I say yes will you do that again?” Corey purred and melted as Jackson kissed him on the mouth.
“Later, baby, after we finish our shift.” Jackson grinned as he made the promise.
Corey sighed and pouted at Jackson. “Zombie boys need love too.”
Jackson gave him a hard kiss on the mouth. “You’ll get more than love right after we finish our shift, I promise.” After smacking his ass one more time, Jackson moved down the bar to take an order.
Grinning, Corey watched him go before setting the waters down in front of them. His eyes focused on Kai. “You are a mystery to me. Meet Jackson and me tomorrow down by the pond.”
He looked at Jasper for a moment before deciding it would be impolite to refuse without a good reason. “Sure. What time?”
After Corey told him and wiggled away to serve more customers, Jasper smiled. “They are nice guys. You will probably like them.”
Kai wasn’t so sure, but what else did he have to do other then read and wait to talk to Ulrich? Lafayette and Beau had refused to give him any work responsibilities while he was still adjusting to life here. It was frustrating, but it was the first vacation he’d ever gotten, and he didn’t know what to do with it.
“Come on. Let me show you around.” Kai picked up his water and followed Jasper. He found he had to drag his eyes off the guy’s shapely backside more than once. What the fuck is that? It must be the cut of his pants. The fabric seemed fused to his ass in the most interesting way.
The temperature seemed to rise as they moved towards the back past the dance floor. It was filled with men in various states of undress writhing to music among the curls of dried ice smoke that wafted between the bodies. The music seemed to reverberate through Kai with its primitive beats. It made him want to jump in the fray so the crowd could swallow him whole.
Jasper stopped in front of a deep purple door. “This is the glory hole room.” He leaned close to Kai’s ear to whisper, “The zombies boys who enjoy the activity usually come in here for a dose of medicine .”
Kai opened his mouth to ask a question and immediately shut his mouth as Jasper opened the door. His imagination could never have conjured up the scene in front of him. Men
