wondered what he’d been about to say, and if it was anything like the words that floated in her mind.

    Chapter Four

Brenna woke up alone in her bed. She slowly stretched, feeling the soreness appreciatively. One glance at the bedside table revealed a bottle of lube and one of her favorite toys. Damn! Had last night been merely a dream? She lay back and vividly recalled every moment of last night. Was it possible she’d had all three men in her bed? She groaned and closed her eyes again.
“Stupid. Stupid. Stupid,” she berated herself, but what a dream it had been.
    “What’s stupid?”
She sat up in her bed with a shriek and watched Kyle bobble the tray he was carrying, almost spilling it onto her floor.
“Christ almighty, woman! You just scared ten years off my life!” he bellowed, putting the tray on her dresser and coming over to sit on the bed beside her. His hands shook when he touched her. “Are you all right? Did something spook you? Are you hurt?”
“You’re here,” was all she could think to say.
He gave her a funny look and lifted one brow in a high arch. “You didn’t say we needed to leave last night. I thought we were starting something. No one-night stands, remember?”
“I…” She trailed off, feeling incredibly silly now. Then her whole body began to glow from the inside out. It hadn’t been a dream. It was real. Last night had been real, and all those aches weren’t from her toys.
“And now you’re grinning like you’ve just hit the lottery. You’re scaring me again,” Kyle admitted.
She giggled and reached for him. He came against her, wrapping his arms around her and hugging her close. She felt his lips brush over her hair.
“You feel perfect,” he whispered. “I’d love to start every morning like this.”
“Me, too,” she shyly whispered back. “Where are Scott and Travis?”
“Scott had an early morning breakfast scheduled with a client that he couldn’t cancel.”
    “On a Saturday?”
Kyle laughed. “It’s a new office building going up downtown. Big job.”
She nodded, understanding that work often took up part of their weekends. “Travis?”
“Headed out to the current site to make sure everything is wrapping up nicely,” Kyle answered. “Leaving me to spend time with you.”
“Now I see why you didn’t go into construction with them,” she said with a laugh.
“I put in my own weekend hours,” he noted. “And they use me just as much.”
“It’s nice to have a lawyer in our pocket.”
“I’ll be anywhere you want me,” he replied huskily and leaned in to kiss her softly on the lips. Just a gentle brush of skin before he pulled away and grabbed the tray once more. “I made breakfast. Nothing fancy. An omelet, bacon, toast and coffee—creamer no sugar.”
She smiled again. “Smells heavenly. Join me?” she asked as he set the tray over her lap. She made sure the sheet was tucked under her arms and adjusted the pillow behind her back while he held the tray steady.
“Let me grab my coffee,” he said and stepped out of the room.
She opened her mouth in a silent scream and kicked her feet, almost dumping her coffee. She couldn’t help it. She was so excited. Scott, Travis and Kyle had spent last night making love to her, talking about doing it again. They wanted her. Maybe as much as she wanted them. It was definitely something to get giddy about.
“You light the whole room up when you smile like that,” Kyle said as he entered the room again, a steaming cup in his hand.
“I’m feeling pretty lucky this morning.”
“I think that was last night, and we were the lucky ones,” Kyle deadpanned.
She laughed. “I’d say all four of us were lucky.”
“Eat,” he ordered. “Before it gets cold.”
She did as she was told, moaning with the first bite. “Mhmm. This is so good. I didn’t know you could cook.”
“It’s an omelet, not a gourmet meal,” Kyle said with a chuckle. “But, yeah, I like
