leads him down the stairs. I cringe a bit thinking about the two large staircases in this house. We will have to put up baby gates if we decide to have more children. I only want one more. I can’t imagine having more than that. Chase is off his rocker wanting at least three. Let’s try one more and see how he does. He is getting to know his daughter when she no longer has stinky diapers and night time feedings.
Leah picks the room next to the master bedroom and is animatedly telling Chase what she wants for her room. She tells him she wants a big girl bed. He eats up every word she says.
“How about when we leave here, we go to the furniture store and you can pick out what you want in your room.” He tells her and she screeches her excitement. I practically have to cover my ears.
“You’re going to spoil her absolutely rotten.” I tell him and he smiles unrepentantly.
“Yes I will and you too.” He tells me as he saunters over to me again with a devious expression. I shake my head at him and shove his shoulder.
“Don’t even think about it. Mr. Telford has already had an eyeful.” He smirks at me as though he thinks it’s funny. He probably does. Though, if I think about all the times that Mr. Davis caught us lip locked, it seems mild in comparison.
Mr. Davis was our High school math teacher. He would always walk in on us kissing wherever we were. He made good natured jokes about it and never disciplined us for our behavior. He actually came to me after Chase left town and expressed how disappointed that he was. He thought we would always be together. I cried on his shoulder for a good half an hour.
“Alright the bank has set up a seven o’clock meeting for us.” Mr. Telford says. You can practically see his eyes dancing in merriment.
“That’s perfect.” Mr. Telford hands back his information that Chase slides into his back pocket. We all walk back out to the car together. It all seem so surreal to me. It almost feels as though I am dreaming. Chase drives straight from there to the furniture store where we let Leah pick out her furniture. I roll my eyes when I remind them that she has all the furniture she needs already.
“Mommy I needs the big girl stuff. I not a baby.” She pouts until she sees the twin sized canopy bed with a curtain that goes around it. It looks like something you would see in a fairytale princess room. It has a matching dresser and night stand. We even find a castle that holds toys like a toy box only larger. Chase happily tells the sales man what all we want. He is keeping a list as he follows us around the store.
Next, we make our way over to the adult furniture where we can find ours, for our bedroom. I fall in love with a king sized four poster bed. We pick out the mattress and box springs we want to go with it. This bed is going to feel as though we are sleeping on a cloud. Of course we get all the matching accessories like the dresser and bedside tables. I am cringing at the bill we have to be racking up.
I fall in love with a dining room table right away. We hadn’t even made it fully into the section before my eyes were on it. I couldn’t even look at the others. Chase laughs and tells the salesman to add it to the list with all the chairs that go with it. We then pick out curtains and beddings stuff. I am worn out and poor little Leah is dragging as we make our may to the front of the store. We are almost to the door when I see the desk of my dreams. I turn to Chase and he is looking at it too.
“That will look perfect in your library office.” He tells me and I grin and nod. We have similar tastes and I can’t be happier about it. He runs over and tells the salesman who is happy to oblige. We have it setup to be delivered tomorrow morning which means we will have an early day tomorrow. It’s good that the men will be helping us put everything together for us.
Leah falls asleep in the car on the way back to the house. Chase carries her inside and lays her
