continue to
bounce back and forth in my ready stance. This makes the huge beast
before me irritated.
The beast charges at me as I bend down and
teleport Michelle out of the action. The beast looks confused when
I teleport back in and strike the beast with my blade right along
his back. He turns to strike me and I disappear again.
I reappear, in front of him, and strike him
in the lower left leg. The beast falls and I disappear. As he gets
up, I use my knee and hit him right in the muzzle. The beast
stumbles backwards in pain. Blood flows from its nose. The beast
uses its big paws to cover its nose from the pain. He, then, lets
out a huge roar as he shakes the blood from his nose everywhere. He
snorts and roars loudly as if giving a command to his pack. The
hell hounds begin to step away from Devon’s pack, Michelle, and
I.
As I catch my breath, the beast and his pack
make a strategic retreat. However, this battle did not go without
having fallen on either side of the fight. Two of the smaller,
younger members of Devon’s pack are slaughtered as were four hell
hounds. Also, several other hell hounds retreat with serious
wounds. A huge trail of blood is left behind.
The pack begins to change back into their
human forms. They are from all walks of life, both men and women.
None is ashamed of who they are. The pack, bare-naked, begins to
head toward the back of the General Store. I follow them with a
barely conscious Michelle in tow. And let me tell you, it was not a
pretty sight to see some of those naked bodies, especially, the
bodies of the older folk.
I see each one of them receive a duffel bag
as they enter the back door to the building. At first, I am unable
to see who is handing out the bags. However, as I round the corner,
I see that it is Brandon handing out the bags. But why? Why is he
handing out the bags? I haven’t seen hide or hair of Devon or
Kelly. Where could they be?

Chapter
Fifteen: My Worst Fears

    Saturday, March 23rd, 2013 8:30 AM
IT HAS been several days since we have heard
word from Devon and Kelly. All of us are pretty much healed from
our wounds. Why is it that we have not heard word from Devon and
his wife? I wake up to a crashing sound
out in the lobby of the hotel. We all run out in our pajamas, not
having chance to change. In the lobby we find a small young man
bruised, battered and nude. There is blood coming from his many
deep cuts that are slowly healing. We recognize him. He is the one
who left to get Devon and Kelly to help us out a few nights
ago.
Brandon looks up at the rather surprised desk
clerk in her maroon and white uniform. “Get me a blanket,
please.”
“Sure thing,” she says as she rushes off into
the office just behind the desk. Quickly the brunette curly locked
desk clerk returns with an off-white blanket. She, then, hands it
to Brandon. “Here you go.”
“Thank you, um, what’s your name?” Brandon
says as he passes the blanket on to our young friend.
    “It’s Tina.”
    “Thanks, Tina. I’m Brandon.”
“So, Brandon, who’s your friend here?”
    “Good question.”
The rather weak naked guy is wrapped in a
blanket as he struggles to get up. “My name is Cameron James. I am
a member of Harrison’s pack.”
“So, what happened the other night? I know
you left to go get Devon and Kelly for support.”
“That’s right,” he says as he sits down in a
nearby chair. “But there was a problem, we were ambushed. I was
lucky to get away. Unfortunately, Devon and Kelly are still being
held captive.”
“Where does the beast have them stashed?”
“No beast, I left out a part.”
“Oh?” Chris says with furrowed brow.
“Yes, several pale faced military men were
there. Devon and Kelly, in werebeast form were put in cages.”
Pale faced military men? No, can’t be.
Thought we lost them . I think to myself. I, then, turn towards
Cameron and point to the incisors in my mouth.
    - Michelle, I need you to speak for me. My
jaw still hurts. –
