her?
"I am sorry, Samael, I just can't seem to keep my eyes open." He chuckled and kissed the top of her head softly.
"Go to sleep, my sweet. W e always have tomorrow."
"But that's just it, Samael. Who says we’re promised tomorrow?" She covered her mouth as she yawned.
"I do." It was her turn to chuckle.
"You are always so arrogant, Samael." She was tired of fighting and closed her eyes.
    "Perhaps,” he chuckled.
Kissing the top of her head again, he stroked a hand gently down her back as he continued uttering words she could not make out. His words were lulling her to sleep; she sighed then snuggled closer as she drifted off.

He waited for her breathing to even before he untangled her limbs from his. Once he had removed her body from his, he got up from the bed to place a sheet over her naked form, staring down at her for a few more moments before settling on the floor across from the bed. He sat cross-legged on the deep burgundy carpet waiting for the whisper of wings that would signal Remie's appearance. He didn't have long to wait. Remie was always on time.
"Lovely. She is in a deep sleep and relaxed, which will make it easier to delve into her subconscious." Remie stood off to the left side of him, staring over at Liliana's prone form.
"Yes, I had to speak in ancient Aramaic so that she wouldn't realize what was happening. It's a good thing to know that my abilities haven't completely left me."
"Some things only the originator can take away. Eva isn't powerful enough to even come close."
"Agreed." He stopped talking as he saw Remie move from his side, and then moved closer to the bed and sat at the edge closest to Liliana. He brought his hand up and pressed it gently to her forehead, closing his eyes as the beautiful dead language tumbled from his lips. Samael stayed where he was; this was Remie's show. Unless Remie asked him to help, he would not interfere.
"Her memories are buried deep. Eva did a good job with this curse. I don't feel like it cannot be undone," Remie said.
"Why do I feel like there is a but somewhere in there?"
"Because there is one, just pausing to make sure all that I have said sinks in first." He removed his fingers from Liliana's head and turned his attention fully on Samael, though he stayed where he was. "She has had centuries of not remembering who she is, w hich in turn has dampened her ability to see the truth for what it is, and every time, who has been there to stop her?"
    "Eva," Samael whispered.
"Yes, Eva, the same person who's important in Liliana’s life. As far as she knows, Eva can do no wrong, and Eva would not purposefully hurt her. She loves Eva. It will be hard for her to believe that Eva did harm to her. She may take some convincing, which means this may take longer than you would like. You also may not get the desired effect." He knew that Remie meant that Liliana could decide not to be with him or to love him. She could be hurt enough to make that choice.
"I understand, Remie, but I will not let Eva win. If I quit now, she has won. As I said before, we need this settled before time has run out for the four of us. No more limbo for Lili and me. I will accept whatever consequences come my way with this as long as the curse is broken and Lili is whole again."
"Okay, my friend, as long as you are sure. I will continue." Remie looked back at Liliana, closing his eyes again as the Aramaic flowed from his lips. Samael bowed his head and closed his eyes as well. Samael felt the ancient words wrapping about him, filling the room, blanketing them all.

    Some Weeks Later
"I have been having the strangest dreams, Samael." Liliana looked at him as they sat at a table at the all-night diner they often frequented after a night out dancing. He looked up from putting creamer in his coffee as they sat in the quiet booth, and he hoped his face was neutral and she wouldn't be able to see anything was up.
"Talk to me," h e said.
Her hands cupped her latte, and she
