trying to do something she wasn’t supposed to. One thing he’d learned was that she wasn’t the type of person that sat around. She wasn’t one to sit idle.
    “I’ll sit here and watch TV with you,” he said. He chuckled when Mia huffed. He knew then that she wouldn’t have sat still, she would have found a way to get around as soon as he left the room.
    Mia turned the TV on, but after an hour of flipping through the channels she sighed. “Can we go get my son back?”
    He grinned as she made it sound like his mother was holding Zane hostage. “I told you Zane is staying the night. I really think it would be best to get you settled in here first before he is here with you like this.”
    She groaned and closed her eyes. “I’m not a TV person. I don’t have time for it with work and Zane. When I get free time I usually read.” Her lip pouted out. “I miss my eReader.”
    Shaking his head, he smiled at her. “Why didn’t you get me to pick it up for you when I dropped by your house to grab everything you needed?”
    “I can’t remember where I put it. I’m grateful your sister went with you so you didn’t have to go through my drawers. I couldn’t ask you to waste time searching for it. You and your family have already done so much for me.” She sighed again really loudly. “I can go without my eReader.”
    “How about if we go for a drive to your apartment and you can help me look?” There was no way he would allow her to search. He wasn’t risking her hurting herself, but he knew if he said he would do it all she would say no.
    Her eyes grew wide and a megawatt smile spread over her face. “Sure. I’m ready when you are.”
    Alex jumped up and picked her up when she tried to get herself off the sofa. Her arms came around his neck. First, he walked to her bag to get the keys for her apartment, and then he carried her down to his car. The whole time she was in his arms he reminded his body she was hurt and now wasn’t the time to awaken with need for her. The problem was it wasn’t listening. His cock was straining against its restraints, and her sweet lavender smell was fogging his brain. When he placed her in the car he shut the passenger door and took a deep breath before going to his side. The next couple of weeks were going to be long.
    * * * *
    They’d been at her apartment for over half an hour. Alex had looked in the lounge room for her eReader and hadn’t found it. She’d sat in a chair and watched as he dug in the sofa and looked under things and behind everything. The whole time Mia had sat watching, drooling and trying not to act like a woman in heat at the sight before her. His muscles bunched and flexed as he lifted things, and she’d lost count of how many times she’d licked her lips when he bent over and his tight, rounded arse was in the air. If she didn’t have her leg in a cast, she told herself she would have jumped him, but she knew she wasn’t that type. Oh well, she could still fantasize.
    She now lay on her bed as she watched him search her room. Mia wiggled on the bed and peered down, squeezing her legs together when he moved her bedside drawers and bent down. Alex came up smiling. “I found it.”
    She smiled at him and leaned forward, wrapping her arms around him. She kissed both his cheeks before brushing her lips over his. Alex froze beneath her touch, and she groaned as she realized she’d just thrown herself at the man. Easing away, she felt her whole face heat up. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have don—”
    Alex didn’t let her finish. He moaned and pasted his mouth against hers. His tongue sought hers, and together they tangled and tasted one another.
    Her body hummed, and her mind screamed what the hell has come over you ? Oh, she knew, she’d been watching him with his arse in the air and her body lit up like she’d never felt before. Without a thought for her broken leg, she spread her thighs apart and pulled Alex onto the bed until he settled
