I stared down at her in surprise. I loved her affection. I kissed her on the forehead then wrapped my arm around her. Sadie smiled at us before she looked at Alex.
Elisa watched Ethan glare at Alex. “Is there going to be a fight?”
“Not sure yet,” her brother answered.
“Well, remember your niece and nephew,” she said.
    Ethan sighed. “Let’s go outside.”
Alex swallowed the lump in his throat before he walked through the front door. We all moved outside until we were on the top step.
Alex placed his hands in his pockets and looked Ethan in the eye. “I just want to talk to Sadie.”
“Well, talk,” Ethan said. He was still standing in front of Sadie, completely blocking her from view.
Sadie walked around and stood in front of him. Like a mother bear with her cub, Ethan wrapped his arm around her waist and held her to his chest. She rolled her eyes even though he couldn’t see her. “This is the most privacy you’re going to get,” she said to Alex.
“That’s okay,” he said. He was quiet for a moment. I felt bad for the guy.
I felt Elisa’s breast against my chest as she moved into me. I became very distracted with the touch. I had the flashback of fingering her and her jerking me and I felt the bulge in my pants. She was so gorgeous. I couldn’t look directly at her because it hurt my eyes. I leaned down and rubbed my nose against hers, staring into her eyes. I could stare at them all day. I kissed her gently then leaned toward her ear. “You make me weak in the knees, Elisa.”
    “You make my heart weak.”
“That shouldn’t be a problem because I’ll never break it.”
She smiled at me and I felt my heart melt.
“Well, spit it out,” Ethan snapped.
His words snapped me out of my lovestruck moment.
Alex ran his fingers through his hair while he looked at Sadie. “I’m sorry about everything. I really am. I was being a jerk to you and I apologize. I’ve had feelings for you for a long time, and when I saw you get with Ethan , it broke my heart. Love does crazy things to people.” Sadie’s eyes softened as she listened to him. “I really don’t want to lose you from my life. I respect your relationship with Ethan and I’m happy for you. Please don’t cut me out. We’ve been friends for so long. I promise that I won’t touch you, pursue you, or make you uncomfortable in any way. Please stop hating me.”
    “Alex, I don’t hate you.”
    “I do,” Ethan said.
“And neither does Ethan,” she said.
    “She’s lying,” Ethan said.
She rolled her eyes. “Ignore him.”
    “That would be unwise.”
She turned around and looked at him. “Would you shut up already? I’m yours—he gets it.”
Elisa and I chuckled quietly to ourselves. I leaned toward her. “That’s going to be me but a hundred times worse.”
She stared at me. “I guess we shouldn’t sleep together for as long as possible.”
    I groaned.
She smiled. “I think it’s cute.”
    “That’s a relief.”
    “And annoying,” she added.
“Well, get used to it. It’s going to happen.”
    She sighed. “Okay.”
Ethan was quiet for a moment before he nodded.
Sadie turned around. “Like I said, I don’t hate you, Alex. I was just hurt and uncomfortable by your actions.”
“And I understand why. I’m very sorry. It won’t happen again.”
“I don’t want to cut you out either.”
“So you forgive me?” he asked hopefully.
“Of course,” she said with a smile. She moved from Ethan’s arms to hug him, but Ethan held her back.
“Are you fucking kidding me right now?” Ethan snapped.
Alex sighed. “How about a handshake?”
    Ethan said nothing.
Sadie glared at Ethan before she reached out and hugged him, defying Ethan. “It’s behind us.”
Ethan glared at Alex. “I still don’t want you alone with her. If I catch you, I’ll make you regret it.”
“Don’t you think that’s unreasonable?” Sadie asked.
    “No,” Ethan snapped.
Alex nodded. “As long as we’re
