I just wanted to say once again, we are so proud to have such a seasoned designer leading the revitalization project.”
    “Thank you very much, sir.”
“As you may have imagined, the project will serve as a stepping stone for major ones to come from this firm,” he said crossing his arms and leaning forward in his chair. “Thus, it is very imperative the development goes on without a hitch. Anything short of perfection would simply be a failure.”
For the next thirty minutes or so, we listened to him adamantly while he discussed details, expectations, deadlines, and budget constraints. He didn’t mind mentioning how successful he anticipated the project would be. The first deadline included having the initial proof designs of the project to him within seventy-two hours. Additionally, we all were to meet at the General Motors assembly plant location one week from this Friday. At the meeting would be engineers, project managers, upper management from Tiffany’s consulting firm, and the ever-important investors. The purpose of the on-site meeting was to present the initial designs to the individuals outside the firm involved on the project.
When the meeting ended, we made our way out of Mr. Bradshaw’s office. As Tiffany predicted, she hardly said one word while the meeting was being conducted. Excited, I raced backed to my office and she followed right next to me.
“I think that went very well,” she said keeping up with my hurried pace. “Seems like Mr. Bradshaw knows what he wants and how to go about getting it.”
“It’s just how one of the richest men in the city operates,” I said. “Today, you received an up close and personal view. Welcome to Donaldson and Bradshaw.”
By the time we approached my office, there was Jane pecking away at the computer which was on her desk. As normal, she noticed us in her peripheral vision and paused for a moment.
“Good morning, Mr. Malone,” she said in her forever kind and friendly way.
“Morning, Jane,” I said quickly knowing I didn’t want to be bothered with any small talk.
“Good morning to you as well, Ms. Towns,” Jane said holding her perfect smile. “I see you’re getting better acquainted with Mr. Malone.”
“Yes I am,” replied Tiffany. “He’s quite the man around here. Now, if I could only see the inside of his office and how the mad scientist operates.”
“You know you’re more than welcome inside my office,” I said standing outside my office door. “Besides, we’re partners for a short while.”
I led Tiffany into the area where all the creative ideas were born. As I looked back and closed the door behind us, Jane went back to working at her computer again. I offered Tiffany a seat but she remained standing looking throughout my office décor. She finally walked up to my college diploma that was framed on the wall near my desk.
“So, I see you’re a Florida State graduate,” she said placing her hands on her hips with her back towards me.
“Yeah, actually Sebastian and I are the only FSU alumni who work for this firm.”
“So how did you and Sebastian meet at Florida State?”
“It had to be all sheer luck,” I said while looking at the diploma and reminiscencing. “Apparently, through a computer error, I was assigned to a luxury off-campus apartment unit that housed the student athletes. Sebastian, who was a standout football player, was my first roommate during our freshman year and we had been friends ever since.”
“Interesting,” she said moving away from the diploma and slowly looking at my achievements and awards that adorned the wall.
“Yeah, tell me about it,” I said taking off my jacket and positioning myself at the workstation away from my desk. “He could have easily reported the mishap but instead we kept it our little secret. Eventually, he got me tickets to all the sold out home football games even when our rivals, the Miami Hurricanes, came to town.
    “It seems like Sebastian is
