stand it.
Dropping myself onto the blanket next to her, I rested my head on her lap and scooted in closer. Her dark hair fell in curly tendrils over my face as she leaned down to kiss me a few times. Her smooth lips moved softly against mine, the passion we’d felt in our first kiss still alive over three years later. I could spend a whole day just exploring her hot little mouth, and I figured I’d do just that pretty soon.
“Lucky boy, what would I do without you…?” Selene said with a smile as she bent down to kiss me again.
“Go crazy?” I said with a snicker just before trapping the back of her head and taking my time to let the kiss linger into something far more intimate.
She pulled back as a devilish look creased her pretty face. “Oh yeah? I thought I was already crazy.”
“Crazier…” I responded, and lovingly swept her hair from her face. Reaching for her chin, I grazed my tongue over Selene’s lips as I stole another kiss.
“I have something to ask you, baby.”
Selene shivered and little goose bumps appeared on her exposed arms. Adjusting her sitting position, she looked at me with an urgent expression and a bit of worry in her eyes.
    “What?” she asked. “What’s wrong?”
I laughed and rolled over, leaning on my elbows and looking up at her.
“Nothing is wrong at all.” I shrugged my shoulders as if I only intended to talk about the weather. She was going to get pissy soon, but she was so damn cute when she got tense with me. It was almost worth plaguing her a bit.
“So what it is?” Her eyes narrowed slightly, and I couldn’t help but chuckle.
I sat up and moved to my knees as my heart started to race in my chest. I had wanted the moment to be romantic and a bit of a surprise. It seems I was going to get my wishes granted on both counts today.
I reached inside my jacket pocket and pulled out the small blue box that had been sitting on my bedside table for weeks now. “I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time, but I wasn’t going to buy a ring with money earned in a crooked way.”
Selene’s mouth dropped as a gasp left her. “Lucky. What are you doing?”
Popping the box open, I revealed a beautiful amethyst ring with small diamond accents. I glanced down at it for a second and then extended it toward her, moving my eyes to search her face for her response.
“It’s not a diamond. But the meaning is there all the same…” I said a little anxiously. The chances of her not liking it were slim, but that was simply because my girl wasn’t materialistic in the slightest. It was one of the many reasons why I loved her so fucking much.
Selene sat quiet for a moment as she looked at me, and then glanced down at the ring. As a smile creased her face, Selene said, “Ask me.”
“I don’t have to,” I said with a cocky smirk on my face. “I know you’ll say yes.”
“Oh, will I?” Selene asked with laugh. “You’re very sure, are you?”
    I smiled confidently. “Yes.”
    “Ask me anyway.”
“Selene Delgado…” I moved onto one knee and tilted my head to the side a little, wanting her to know how incredibly much I loved her.
“Yes?” She batted her eyelashes playfully and seemed to be fighting the burn of tears as they swam in her lovely green gaze.
“Won’t you be my old lady?” I said with a chuckle, wanting to break the hard emotion up a little, and yet still give my girl the honor of having a man get on his knees and promise her forever.
Snatching the ring from me, Selene slid it on her ring finger and laughed. She lifted to her knees and tackled me hard, forcing me back onto the blanket and pinning me down.
“Yes! Lucky Morrison. The answer is yes!”
I grasped Selene around her waist as I repositioned her on top of me, lining our bodies up so that I could force her legs around me. Kissing her more forcefully now, I attacked my new fiancé’s mouth with a feverish need.
I slid my fingers into her long locks, and once again gripped
