    “Tell me, what were you thinking just before I used my belt on your bottom. I surmised that was your first spanking, wasn’t it?
    “Yes, Sir, it was. I thought I might have broken my contract already by being late.”
    “But you weren’t late, my dear. When I didn’t look approvingly, you assumed the worst. You had a guilty conscience about something. Why did you feel guilty?”
    Her answer was barely a whisper and she hung her head in shame. “I had just signed an agreement to be a whore, Master.”
    Master Robert lifted her chin and said, “You felt you deserved to be strapped?”
    She looked surprised. “I believe I must have, Sir. I wasn’t aware of it, though. Then something strange happened and it was like I wasn’t being punished anymore.” She smiled shyly and answered, “I didn’t think I’d ever done anything that naughty, Master.”
    Master Robert laughed. He thoroughly enjoyed this girl.
    “We have a couple coming in for training this afternoon. The husband expects us to teach his wife obedience. I want you to join me in the interview.”
    Rose nodded, but seemed distracted. They were sitting in Robert’s office and she was looking out the window. “Master, are you expecting an architect right now?”
    “I am. Jeremy Milton is coming by to talk about joining us. Why do you ask?”
    “I’ve worked with him. May I absent myself, Master? I’m embarrassed to see him.”
    Robert looked almost cross. “Why?”
    “Because, Sir, he knows how far I have sank after losing my identity. He knows I lost everything, and I feel embarrassed to see him, Master. Please? He is almost at the door.”
    Master Robert’s expression softened, but he shook his head. “I want you here, my dear.”
    Jeremy was escorted in and immediately stopped short when he saw Rose. “Gina! So nice to see you,” he said, but his expression was more of bemusement.
    Before she could respond, Robert stood and extended his hand. “How do you do, Mr. Milton? Do you know Mistress Rose?”
    Jeremy was shaking Roberts hand and did a double take. “Mistress Rose? Oh, I’m so sorry ma’am. You resemble a former colleague of mine.”
    “I see,” was all she said. When he heard her voice, though, Jeremy was sure it was her.
    Robert suggested, “Why don’t you bring in some tea, my dear?” Rose nodded and gratefully escaped.
    Jeremy told Robert, “I don’t know why she calls herself Rose, but that’s Gina. She was the best in her field before she got into some trouble. Nice lady. I have to tell you, I was surprised to see her here. Made me a little nervous to let her know I was interested in your place.” Jeremy was laughing at himself at this point. “I feel a bit awkward, anyway, but I have a new girlfriend, and she is a bit adventurous…”
    Robert relaxed and warmed to the man as they got down to business. “You’ve come to the right place, Jeremy.”
    Rose came back with the tea and they had a pleasant visit. After he left, Robert commented, “That was bound to happen sooner or later, my dear. We have a lot of people coming through here.”
    “I just didn’t think about it until I saw Jeremy in the driveway.”
    “Well, he obviously likes you. Should anyone come in who isn’t on your side, I’ll offer them a session with you wielding the whip, and he can lick your boots.”
    Rose gasped at his straight-faced comment before bursting with laughter. “Thank you, Master Robert!”

    It was almost 4:00 when she came back downstairs with her hair up in a French twist wearing her pin-stripe navy suit and cream-colored silk blouse as requested, and a pair of taupe high heels.
