love?” Qyree greeted.
“I’m good, how ‘bout you?”
“Better, now that I hear Miss Lady is about to showcase her talent.”
“Y’all better hope God decreases me and increases Himself on that stage ‘cause if not, it’s going to be a holy mess,” Chey laughed.
“Nah, you got it. Well, let me head on over here to make sure everything and everybody are where they need to be. I’ll see you in a bit.”
“Okay.”
Putting the nozzle back on the hook, both Cheynese and Von got into her car to head to the school. Before she pulled off, she glanced in the rearview mirror then over at Von.
“Why you looking at me like that?” Pure amusement was evident on Von’s face but Chey didn’t know why.
“That man got you open like a can of pig feet,” Von laughed, sounding just like one of the twins in the movie ATL .
“He does not,” she disagreed, hoping that Von would leave it alone. If she kept pressing her, she was going to eventually let it slip that she was in fact feeling Qyree. The only thing that kept him from being a prospect was his womanizing ways. He was far from a bad person, but boyfriend or husband material was not in him. Who was to say that it never would be, because God can surely change a person’s heart and mindset, but Chey just wasn’t about to be the one to put her heart on the line only for it to get broken.
“If you say so. I may have been out of the loop for a while but I know what it looks like when someone is feeling each other, and the two of y’all got it bad.”
Chey couldn’t deny that she liked him, just not enough to get misled. During their time in college, the rep Qyree had about him ‘hitting it and quitting it’ was warning enough she would never let him get close enough to hit and quit her. Or would he?

Getting to the event with only two hours left for the beginning of the show to start had Qyree stressed. He had wanted to be there earlier, but fooling around with Natalia and Trinity made him a little behind schedule. To some, he wasn’t late but he knew better. Instead of getting right on the road the day before, he ended up leaving Natalia’s house only to go to one of his other lady friend’s houses. He was in serious need of a stress reliever and Bambi was the perfect one for that.
Bambi was a goddess. Her body was so flawless, but her attitude was horrible. He knew that if he went over to her house, there was no way that he could get what he wanted and leave right back out. After taking his stress away in the bed, as soon as he got up to leave she would stress him right back out by nagging and complaining. Heading her direction, he thought about just staying a few hours and then easing out on her. The gag was on him when he woke up and the sun was out. Since she knew he had an event in Valdosta, she didn’t complain as much. Now here he was trying to make sure he didn’t miss anything that needed to be done.
Things were going just as he had hoped for and the only thing that would be better was if he could sign a few cats that he was sure to bring in millions. By the time his father got back from vacation with one of his lady friends, the contracts would be on his desk, signed, sealed, and delivered.
It was odd that at the last minute, Jaxon told him he wouldn’t be able to make it. When asked who he was going with, Jaxon only said a ‘friend’ which was unusual to Qyree. He knew all of the women that his father went on trips with and for him not to offer up any more info, Qyree let it go. Sooner or later he would meet her just like he met all the other ones, so he didn’t sweat it.
The booing of the crowd broke him away from his thoughts, as he watched the performer leave the stage. It was some dude that got up there thinking he was Prince of the new millennium with the outfit to match. He wore his hair in a big afro and the bell-bottom outfit he was rocking was definitely not a crowd pleaser. They were so
