Either way she couldn’t stay here and bring her problems to Niall
and his pack.
    She swallowed the huge
lump in her throat, tried to control her heartbeat. “I just panicked at the
thought t hat I don’t remember who I am.” Not a lie.
“Did one of your friends bring my car here?”
    Niall’s blue gaze
stared her down, and it took everything she had not to look away.
    “They towed it to the
garage in town.”
    “Did they find my
purse in it?” She was getti ng tired of cowering in
the corner, but with him now looming over her, she had no choice.
    His head cocked to the
side. “Actually, no. They said the inside had nothing in it
so they didn’t try to jimmy the lock.”
    “Fuck, shit.” She
raked her fingers through her tangled hair. “Could
you please give me some space?”
    Far from giving her
more space he closed the few inches separating them. Warm breath fanned over
her lips, creating a delicious tingle. She licked her bottom lip, and then
sucked it inside her mouth.
    “You are going to
drive me insane. You know that, don’t you?” Niall’s mouth covered hers, taking
instead of asking.
    Damn man could kiss
like a rock star. He nibbled and then sucked her lips, one at a time, making
her think of other things he’d do with his mouth. By
the time he lifted his head, she wasn’t sure what they’d been talking about.
She looked at the bed a few feet away, and contemplated how long it would take
them to get undressed and him inside her.
    “Don’t look at me like
that or I’ll have you and me both stripped in less than sixty
seconds.”
    She opened her mouth
to tell him she had no clue what he was talking about, then she remembered
werewolves could not only smell a lie, but arousal. She was so tu rned on, the neighbors could probably smell her.
Niall’s blue eyes flashed electric blue, a clear sign his wolf was close to the
surface. Again, she wondered how she knew about werewolves. Had the person she
was running from been a wolf too? Instinctively she
knew she was safe with Niall, but something kept her from telling him she was
aware of what he was.
    “I need to use the
bathroom,” she said.
    He nodded and gave her
space to get up, offering her his hand. She didn’t think it was smart to refuse
his help with his wolf so close to the surface. Her
palm was swallowed up by his much larger one, yet they fit together. She
released him almost immediately.
    “I’ll just be a few
minutes.” She stepped around him. Her borrowed sweats held up by one hand as
she made h er way into the large master bathroom,
shutting the door for some much needed privacy. “Keep your hands to yourself
woman, or you’ll be getting screwed six ways to Sunday without knowing if
you’re a card carrying member of the V-club,” she mumbled under he r breath. She looked at her appearance in the mirror after
using the facilities. The woman staring back at her didn’t jar her memories. Dark brown hair, brown eyes, a straight
nose that clearly had never been broken, and a face that would be considered
pre tty by many.
    She noticed her own
clothes had been placed on the counter. The silk thong, and somewhat matching bra had heat blooming in her tan
face. With a shrug, she pulled his white T-shirt off, followed by the too-large sweats . They still held a hint o f his unique fragrance, a tinge of patchouli and citrus and
all Niall. Standing naked, holding a strangers clothing like a lovesick fool,
she felt like an idiot. She tossed the clothes in the hamper, shaking off the
need to inhale his scent one last time.
    Pulling the panties
and jeans on, she realized her shirt was clean but had rips and holes in all
the wrong places. “Obviously, this material doesn’t do well after falling down
a cliff, and then being washed and dried.”
    She pulled her hair
into a messy bun, brushed her teeth with the
toothbrush Niall was kind enough to leave out, still new in the package, which
made her wonder how many overnight guests he had. She
