would be making what would seem like a lot of money, that in actuality it would take a little time before we really started flipping loot and seeing the Pablo Escobar type dough.
â€œIf we do things right,” Latiefe informed us, “we’ll be living fat before we know it. One thing we have to do is promise to live by our mission statement which is, ‘ FOURTH CREW BEFORE CASH.’ Our mission is to be ‘ THE MOST DOMINANT DRUG HUSTLERS IN THE NORTHEAST.’ Yo, we’re in this together, so that means that no one or no thing is bigger than the crew! A’ight?”
â€œNo doubt,” we all agreed in unison.
â€œAll of this talk sounds good,” Randy said. “Matter of fact, we sound like we’re some Fortune Five Hundred executives and all that. But how in the world are we going to get ten grand to set this off? How!? Big executives, tell me where do we get the start up capital from?” Latiefe attempted to put Randy at ease.
â€œOK, OK, see, me and the Godfather already discussed that. And the most logical conclusion that we came to was the fact that we gots to become strictly ruthless, all out illegal criminals to get the money we need in order to pass go. This is the deal. We’re taking anything and everything that we want, from whoever we want, when we want! Anything valuable that we see we’re taking it, housin’ it, taxing it, whateva! We ain’t stopping until we get the ten grand that we need.” Then with the most satanic look in his eyes Latiefe continued. “We’ll be robbing cats, and if we have to, we’ll be murdering cats!” I was amazed at the conviction with which Latiefe spoke.
â€œWe have to be slick and we have to be smart,” Latiefe advised us. “If we do that, we have nothing to worry about. We’re all in this together! No rats! If one of us gets caught and goes down that doesn’t take us all down!”
Latiefe paused and slowly looked everyone in the eyes.
â€œI don’t think any of y’all is soft,” he said. “But if any of y’all are soft, and y’all feel yourselves starting to get shook, tell me now.”
Everyone looked at each other as if to challenge one another to a fight, but not a sound was heard, which indirectly gave Latiefe permission to continue.
â€œWe gots to go on a crime spree to get this cash that we need. Then we’re gonna blow up on the drug scene. So again, whoever is down now is down. If you don’t want to be down with this tell me now. But word is bond, when we blow up and if you wasn’t with it from jump, don’t try to hop on the wagon when the getting is good. I mean we’re homeboyz and cool with each other and all of that, but I won’t be trying to hear that!”
Again, no one said a word. You could hear a pin drop amongst the crew as everyone seemed to be deep in their own thoughts. The silence ratified everyone’s decision to be down with the plan. We were in this thing together.
Dwight, the Godfather, took over from this point. He discussed tactics.
â€œAll of us have some type of gun, and we’re gonna need them, with bullets! Get your hands on as many guns as you can because after this crime spree is over we’ll need them for the drug trafficking. We’re also gonna need ski masks, gloves, all that. Y’all know what y’all need to rob with, right?”
Dwight commanded that since there was ten of us, during our crime spree, each day we were to go out in teams—two teams of three and one of four—rotating amongst ourselves everyday.
â€œMonday,” he said, “we’re gonna start our rampage. Monday morning the rampage starts and it won’t end until that following Friday. It has to end by that Friday because by then the cops and detectives will get hip or we’ll slip up and get bagged. Ten Gs y’all! That means a lot of work has to be done! We’re going
