child.
    ‘ I
came here to get you,’ replied Rose.
    ‘ Me?’
    ‘ I
saw what they did to you, Brother. The entire Alliance saw. The
Prisoner 3-57 show was the most popular thing on T.V.’
    ‘ Eh?’
was my only reply.
    ‘ For
half an hour a night they would broadcast an edited version of your
story in the game. They showed your story from the moment you escaped
prison, got caught by the aliens, returned to earth, fell in love
with Jane, nearly died at the hands of the alien in the black suit,
hunted down AWOL players, attacked London’s defence network,
battled your long time enemy and finally went on your rampage and
killed your friends. That story of conflict and love was watched by
fifteen million people.’
    I
said nothing.
    What
was there to say?
    They
turned my life into some kind of reality T.V show.
    ‘ They
convinced you that I wasn’t real. I hated what they did to you.
I asked Clay to get me into the game. I wanted to find you, save you
and show you that I am real. I wanted you to know that I love you.’
    ‘ What
about your sickness?’ I asked her.
    ‘ It’s
gone,’ she replied.
    ‘ Rose,
you killed a psychiatrist, you nearly beat dad to death, and you cut
up mum’s puppy.’
    She
grimaced with each word that left my mouth.
    ‘ I
know. I know, please don’t remind me.’
    ‘ How
come you are normal now?’
    There
really wasn’t a more delicate way of me to put the question.
    ‘ Dad
paid for my treatment.’
    ‘ Where
did he get the money from?’
    ‘ Does
that matter?’
    ‘ I
guess not,’ I replied, ‘but you have to understand this
is a lot of information to take in. I am not sure I believe this is
even real. This could be another elaborate trick to get me into
another war game of some kind. I am not sure if you are real. I am
not sure if any of you are real. I am not sure about anything any
more’
    ‘ What
can I do to prove to you that I am real?’ asked Rose.
    ‘ I
don’t think you can.’
    ‘ Fair
enough, but now that I have found you I won’t let you go,
Brother. I will help you escape this game.’
    ‘ You
said that to me once before,’ I explained.
    ‘ That
wasn’t me.’
    ‘ I
don’t know if you are even you.’ I turned my back and
headed down the hallway. ‘I am going to do another sweep of the
area. Don’t get too relaxed. This game isn’t over by a
long shot.’

some company?

    The
heat of the water felt too good to be true. I closed my eyes and
turned my face up to the shower head. Feeling it spray across my face
was like having some kind of massage. I could feel the tension
flowing out of my body. I was back up on level one, which was ground
level. I had located a fully fitted out gymnasium, changing rooms and
large communal shower. I thought I would take advantage of the
situation. Peace never lasted long inside the game. My suit was in a
pile against the wall with all my weapons. They were only a foot
away, but even that felt too far. That is what the game did to you.
It made you paranoid. It made you feel like you were never safe. You
always had to look over your shoulder.
    ‘ Do
you mind if I join you?’ asked a female voice from behind.
    I
turned my eyes towards Fiona.
    I
could feel my heart stop for a brief moment in time.
    She
was completely naked.
    A
smile split her beautiful lips, as I looked her up and down. She had
the body of a swim suit model. She was slim, toned and looked like
she belonged on the front cover of a magazine. Unconsciously, my eyes
were locked firmly on her large plump breasts. They were causing a
reaction below my waist line.
    It
was then that I noticed something else.
    She
had a tattoo on the inside of her forearm.
    ‘ 2-91,’
said Fiona, as she held it up.
    ‘ You’re
a prisoner, too?’ I asked.
    ‘ Women’s
wing,’ she replied, ‘There were ten different blocks in
our prison. There were three female prison blocks and six male prison
blocks. I am guessing
