be coming back on occasion. We’ll be seeing so much of each other that you’ll be getting sick of seeing us.”
    “Perish the thought.”
“Have you sorted out a place yet?”
“Now that you mention it, I just closed the deal on a top floor condo. It’s overlooking the city but I haven’t actually physically seen it. The pictures of the balcony that overlooks the city was the biggest selling point for me.”
“Leave it to Sophie to buy something sight unseen but if memory serves me correctly, that has always been her way.”
“You should not tease, Ethan. When you moved to this city I was the one who found you this place you are living in now. All I had to do was describe it and you were willing to sign a check right away.”
“Hey, I know what I want and you painted such a good picture of the place that I had no choice but to sign on the dotted line.”
“All you artists make me a little jealous with how you can create something from nothing and then sell it for a lot of money to people like me. I’ve always thought that I could be an artist myself but my family was big into law and that was just my path in life.”
I whispered under my breath, “You are definitely a sexual artist.”
“What was that you said, Emily? Did you say that I was a sexual artist? Hmmm, I do like the sound of that and if you don’t mind I’m going to use it and tell everyone it was my saying.” I flushed a little but they were taking everything in stride and our conversation was flowing, just as much as the wine was.
“I suppose you could say that what I cooked here was a work of art as well.” To prove his point, he used his knife and fork and slashed a design into the mashed potatoes that would leave Leonardo Da Vinci proud. Both Sophie and I were speechless, as the potatoes became the bust of a woman with two peas on top for nipples.
“You are such a man, thinking that all art has to have a naked body when really art is subjective and could look like anything.”
“Hey, I know what I like and this speaks to me.” We laughed and he dug into the bosomy twosome and consumed it before our eyes. After he ate it all up, he licked his lips and then Sophie did the same thing as she played lazily with her fork. They were purposely leading the conversation towards sex, just enough that I noticed but I didn’t think too much of it.
“You know, Em, it’s Sophie’s last night in the city and I think we should let her decide what she wants to do for her final night.” I nodded but was a little skeptical to what was going on here. “Sophie, you have but to name it and it’s yours. We could go dancing, see a movie, go to an art gallery, just name your poison my lady and your wish is our command.” OUR? ‘Our’ is a plural word. ‘Our’ includes me How did I get mixed into this little scenario? Oh well, to be fair, it is her night and we did promise to make it special for her.

You’d think that I would be able to tell what they were up to but I was at a loss as to what they were conspiring about. I had to wait for them to reveal their intentions before I would be in the know. They were definitely beating around the bush and I could tell that Ethan wasn’t ready to reveal his intentions but Sophie wasn’t about to let this opportunity pass her by.
Sophie was flirting with him all night. She told me out of the blue, “Wouldn’t it be cool if we both could have one night together with him?”
I said incredulously, “You’re talking about a ménage à trois, if my French is correct and I’m not sure I’m ready for something so extreme.” I had to admit that the idea did intrigue me but it just didn’t seem like something that I was willing to do. Although, the thought did occur to me that they were my friends and something like this is always better with friends than with perfect strangers. Three people having sex together when one of them was going to be me was a scary thought. It just didn’t seem likely
