her want to quit. She was berated for bringing one passenger a bottle of non-sparkling water. She was yelled at for providing snacks that were not clearly labeled as gluten free and she one woman even cussed her out for bringing her purse dog the wrong type of pillow for her to rest on.

Chapter Four

This became a regular occurrence for her and Amanda as well. Whenever Adrian had a flight, his troop of spoiled brats followed. The money though, was more than enough compensation. Amanda finally had enough to support her two kids and with being a single mom, she desperately needed it. She even had enough to hire a full time nanny since Adrian’s schedule was sporadic. That was the one thing that bothered Christa, always being on call.

She decided one day on a flight out of Hawaii that she would speak with Adrian about her role on the plane. She knew after the first time, she would have a lot of work on her hands but she didn’t think she would end up being the work horse for the spoiled and entitled. Adrian apologized for causing her any grief and promised she would be rewarded for all her hard work. On the next flight, she was surprised not to see Amanda on the flight. She tried calling her but there was no answer at her home.

It wasn’t until she saw him did she realize what was going on. As she looked out the hatch of the plane, she saw a very expensive red sports car speeding towards it. It screeched to a stop and none other than Lance Freeman jumped out. Christa’s heart jumped into her throat the moment she saw him. The thought of being able to be in such close proximity made her feel weak in the knees. Adrian climbed out of the passenger seat of the sports car and they both approached Christa with big grins on their face.

“How you doin,” Lance said as Christa extended her hand. He took her hand and kissed it while also staring at her in the eyes, making her blush.
“I d-do very well Mr. Freeman,” she stuttered.
“Please,” he said. “Call me Lance.”
“S-sure Lance,” she replied. “Right this way please.”
“Don’t worry about it Christa,” Adrian said to her as he patted her on the back softly. “You won’t be working this flight. I would like you to enjoy yourself today and keep Lance company.”
“Sure thing Adrian,” she replied excitedly. She was not sure what Adrian was playing at but she thought it best just to think of it as a gift for all her hard work.

Once inside the plane, Christa was seated next to Lance. She giggled at his stupid jokes and felt like a schoolgirl around him. She looked away from him for a moment as movement outside the plane caught her attention. She noticed a box truck moving quickly towards the plane and she saw the captain greet two men inside the truck. The captain motioned the men towards the baggage storage compartment under the plane and they began unloading the truck with containers shrink wrapped. She wasn’t sure what was going on but figured it was some last minute shipment World Class Flights allocated.

Christa brought her attention back to Lance who was desperately trying to get her affection. The more time she spent with Lance, the more she realized how immature he seemed. All he wanted to talk about was extreme sports and video games. Something about him seemed rather off to her as well but she couldn’t put her finger on it. To lighten the mood, Adrian called for a few rounds of shots. As their inebriations began to lower, Lance’s conversation turned towards Christa, he asked her about where she came from and she told him she grew up on a farm in Kansas and that was why she wanted to become a pilot and get away from it all. The more they drank, the more Christa’s attraction towards Lance grew. She envisioned what it was like to kiss him but worried what Adrian would think of her.

Luckily, Adrian passed out soon after they polished off a bottle of whiskey. Christa was happy her youthful years of binge drinking
